JAPAN Overview
By creating chemical reactions in materials, this industry creates substances that possess properties of even higher value. These substances are then used as raw materials when manufacturing a variety of inorganic and organic products such as glass, cement, fertilizer, dye, petroleum, medicine, and synthetic resins. As a country with limited natural resources, Japan has a primary materials industry that excels at creating products with even higher added value from resources that are procured from overseas. Currently, Japan is working on projects such as developing eco-friendly products capable of efficiently using CO2 as a material.
