Tuya Giken K.K.
Tuya Giken specializes in plating, polishing, coating, and anodizing
We specialize in polishing and plating technologies, with particular expertise in buffing polishing processes in the field of surface treatment. We can flexibly handle high-mix low-volume, and can also provide mass production with stable quality using robots. We are also capable of TIG welding and specialize in TIG welding of aluminum. We can handle integrated production of plating processing (decorative/hard Cr, electroless Ni, zinc plating), anodizing, and various types of coating.

Buff polishing
Buff polishing is a type of polishing method that is mainly used to finish metal surfaces (e.g., luster). The word "buff" refers to a circular object made of cloth or other materials. There are different types of buff polishing, and the polishing method varies greatly depending on the application of the product. We have not only general buff polishing techniques such as rough finishing, intermediate finishing, finishing, mirror finishing, hairline, etc., but also polishing techniques for adding to appearance. Quality is managed numerically We have an environment in which buffing and polishing can be performed based on numerical values, not only on the intuition of the craftsman, by utilizing a surface finish measuring device. Large variations are reduced even with manual polishing work because the polishing work is performed within the standard values. It is said that it is difficult to standardize work in buff polishing, which is often done by hand, but we are good at developing work based on numerical values, which also makes standardization of work possible. Mass production is also possible with robots We utilize industrial robots to handle mass production. As of October 2022, two buff polishing robots are in operation, polishing tens of thousands of products per month. In the area of buff polishing, which is difficult to automate with robots, we have succeeded in converting the know-how of manual polishing into data and robotizing the process. We can provide mass-produced products with constant quality. Taking advantage of our many years of expertise in difficult processing techniques We specialize in hand polishing of small items. We polish products that other companies in the industry are said to be unable to do, such as polishing inside a 0.5 mm gap groove among small products. We can also accommodate small-lot production. We have the technology to mass-produce difficult-to-machine products by utilizing the pre-polishing and post-polishing know-how acquired through our 50 years in business to select the optimum materials and tools, and to derive working methods.
Thread path polishing
Thread path polishing is the polishing of the area where the thread passes through. Many of the various parts are stamped or laser processed, and the majority have rough fracture surfaces. If threads pass through a rough fracture surface, problems such as thread breakage, thread fraying, and thread stoppage can occur. To solve this problem, thread path polishing is performed. We have a polishing technology that reduces frictional resistance in the path of the thread, making it easier for the thread to slide and wrap around. Dedicated machines and materials for deburring In the thread path, we handle products that other companies cannot do due to shape issues such as fine or narrow grinding points. We solve such problems by developing and manufacturing specialized machines and materials. Frictional resistance, which is difficult to determine, can also be measured with a surface roughness measuring instrument In thread path polishing, surface roughness is used as a guide. Frictional resistance is difficult to judge by appearance and touch, and sometimes cannot be cleared by craftsmen's intuition alone. Numerical values are one of the factors to judge for products in which threads wrap around or pass through. In addition to intuition, appearance, and touch, we also work based on numbers, which enables us to finish within the standard values.

TIG Welding
Acquisition, maintenance, and development of technology We specialize in TIG welding of aluminum, which is said to be difficult. In particular, we handle a lot of aluminum molds from 3 mm to 6 mm (thin plate subjects in the test) thick. In addition, welding operators are required to take the aluminum welding technician qualification certification test from the Japan Light Metal Welding Association. The basic level TN-1F is required, and there are many who have mastered specialized levels such as TN-1V and TN-1H. We strive to maintain and develop our technology through daily welding operations and license renewal examinations every three years. Not only a welding contractor, but also bending, welding, finishing (hairline, etc.), buff polishing We have experience not only in welding, but also in bending and machining, and can even do buff polishing in-house. We are also able to consistently manufacture products through cooperation with partner companies for painting, plating, and other processes. Pinholes and weld cracking to prevent welding defects We collect data on a daily basis in order to reduce and correct pinholes after finishing. Data can be recorded for items such as weather, environment, and work conditions, allowing the above problems to be mitigated and corrected with high accuracy.
