We can provide integrated production of a wide range of optical glass components essential for manufacturing optical devices, such as digital cameras and projectors. This is done by making full use of processing technologies such as shape processing, polishing, and vapor deposition according to customer specifications. We have a particularly established reputation for our polishing and vapor deposition processing technologies.
 
In terms of polishing technology, we are one of the few companies in Japan that can achieve mirror-like surfaces with nanometer-order surface roughness, and process thicknesses of 0.1 mm or more. 

In vapor deposition processing technology, by alternately layering transparent thin films with different refractive indices on the surface of glass, it is possible to transmit or reflect more than 99% of light in a specific wavelength range.

The optical glass components built into the digital cameras and projectors we all casually use in everyday life may include our company's products.

1) Wire saw
Cutting optical glass, quartz, crystal, and other materials with precision wire with low loss and high accuracy.
2) Centering machine
Grinding the periphery of the workpiece to determine the shape, roughness, and external dimensions of the end face.
3) Double-sided polisher (lapping)
This is the process of determining the flatness (flatness and parallelism) of the workpiece using coarse abrasive grains, and involves batch processing (several to dozens of pieces) using a double-sided polisher.
4) Monitoring
The lapping quality is visually inspected.
5) Double-sided polisher (polishing)
The surface roughness of the workpiece is determined using fine abrasive grains.
Achieves surface roughness on the nanometer scale.
Machining is controlled to eliminate surface defects.
6) Automatic precision cleaners
Equipment that removes dirt, dust, and other impurities from polished glass and dries it.
7)-1 Vacuum deposition equipment
It is possible to deposit multilayer films with optical properties such as anti-reflection, infrared cutting, and UV cutting on optical glass with a mirror finish.
Films with various refractive indices can be selected to form multilayer films, so a range of variations in optical properties can be obtained.
To obtain multilayer films with optical properties that do not change over time, an ion-assisted deposition method can be selected.
7)-2 Sputtering equipment
This system is capable of depositing multilayer films with optical properties that do not change over time, such as anti-reflection, infrared cutting, and UV cutting, on mirror-polished optical glass.
The multilayer films are formed mainly using niobium oxide films with a high refractive index and silicon oxide films with a low refractive index.
Compared to vacuum deposition systems, multilayer films can be formed at lower temperatures.
8) Final inspection
Visual inspection is performed in a dark cleanroom (class 1000 or lower) to less than 5 micrometers.
