Netsushin Co., Ltd.
Top Pt Sensor Manufacturer with 50 Years of Experience
Temperature control with unprecedented precision is required in all aspects of technology, from microscopic technologies such as micro devices to large-scale technologies such as environmental measurement and construction. It is the origin that supports the foundation of advanced technology, and that is what Netsushin's Pt sensor is all about. It enables temperature measurement at a small scale and speed that was not previously thought possible.

Technology for Miniaturization
All platinum resistance thermometers contain a platinum resistance element in the temperature-sensitive part that senses the temperature. There are two types of platinum resistance elements: ceramic type and glass type. The MC-0401 element of Pt100Ω (at 0°C) has a ceramic outer diameter of φ0.4 mm and a length of 1.5 mm. The structure consists of a platinum coil passing through a ceramic body with four holes of φ0.09 mm. The MG-0802 element has an outer glass diameter of 0.8 mm and a length of 2.0 mm and consists of a solid glass rod with a platinum wire wound in a 360° non-inductive or inductive manner. Netsushin manufactures all of these, the world's smallest devices, by hand.
Technology for Thinning
The world's thinnest film-type NFR sensor is a platinum resistance thermometer in the form of a 0.2 mm-thick film. NFR sensors are wire-wound platinum resistance thermometers that use Kapton film and coiled platinum wire of several microns in the temperature-sensitive area. It boasts the world's thinnest thickness and flexibility. The smallest size of the temperature sensing part is 1.5 mm wide, 2.0 mm long, and 0.3 mm thick, and all NFR sensors are manufactured by hand at Netsushin.

Technology for High-Speed Measurement
Manufactured with Netsushin's delicate technology, a small platinum resistance element with an outer diameter of φ0.4 mm can fit into a metal protection tube with the same thickness as a mechanical pencil lead (outer diameter φ0.5 mm). Also, a surface block type surface sensor can be incorporated into a metal block with a thickness of 1.0 mm. Making the temperature-sensing part thinner and smaller can increase the measurement sensitivity and the response speed remarkably due to the smaller heat capacity. The processing of these metal protection tubes and minute, microscopic processing of parts such as surface blocks are conducted by trained personnel in-house.
Technology for High Precision Measurement
Standard platinum resistance thermometers are defined in ITS-90 (International Temperature Scale 1990) as standard thermometers for the temperature range from the triple point of mercury (-38.8344°C) to the freezing point of silver (961.78°C). The purity of the platinum wire used for the element of the standard platinum resistance thermometer must be 99.99% or more. Also, the ceramic insulators used must have a purity of 99.9% or higher. Any contamination of such high-purity materials would result in failure to comply with ITS-90, so Netsushin manufactures products in cleanrooms free of dust and dirt.
Technology for Wide Range Temperature Measurement
HTS sensors are platinum resistance thermometers used for the high-temperature range of 0°C to 1000°C. Currently, they are mainly used for standard applications, but in the future, they are expected to be used where more accuracy is required than type R thermocouples. In addition, Netsushin is working on a type that can measure up to 1200°C. Pt-Co sensors are resistance thermometers with platinum-cobalt for use in the low-temperature range of 10K (about -263°C). They are mainly used in ultralow-temperature regions such as cryopumps.
