DAIO STEEL BALL MFG. CO., LTD.

A manufacturer that specializes in steel balls. We can accommodate diverse types of steel, such as that used in bearings, industrial purposes, and those used in automotive parts. We manufacture high precision steel balls having 0.1-μm level accuracy.

As a manufacturer that specializes in steel balls, we produce high precision/high quality steel bearings. Currently, we manufacture/sell bearing steel balls mainly in SUJ2 and SUS440C, other carbon steel balls, austenitic stainless steel balls, cemented carbide balls, ceramic balls, and other types of steel balls. Using Japanese materials, we produce approximately 600 million pieces every month at our two factories in Hokkaido.

Bearings, bearings, automobile parts, hydraulic equipment, pumps, and valves
Steel balls for rolling bearings (JIS B 1501)
It is made of bearing steel (JISG4805/Classification number SUJ2), and it is mainly used for ball bearing. With its superior wear resistance and load bearing property, it is suitable for rotating parts in any industrial machine.
Stainless steel balls for rolling bearings
It is produced under the same standards as steel balls for bearing rolling shafts that use martensite stainless steel (JISG4309/Classification symbol SUS440C). As it is highly corrosion resistant and wear resistant, it is suitable for shafts, valves, electronic machines and optical equipment parts.
Carbon steel balls
We apply our unique carbon quenching to carbon steel for cold forging (JISG3507-2/Classification code SWCH10R, SWCH10A, and SWCH12A) to produce carbon steel balls that have the highest strength of their kind.
Carbon steel balls
It is made of carbon steel for cold forging, and it is suitable for rotating parts with relatively small loads (JISG3507-2/Classification number SWCH8R, SWCH10R, SWCH10A, and SWCH12A), such as casters and conveyers.
Hardened stainless steel balls
It is produced under the same standards as steel balls for bearing rolling shafts that use martensite stainless steel (JISG4309/Classification symbol SUS420J2). As it is highly corrosion resistant, it is suitable for usage in, for instance, high pressure valves.
Nonhardened stainless steel ball
Applying heat treatment to austenitic stainless steel (JISG4309/Classification code SUS304 and SUS316) to stabilize the austenite structure and bestow it with corrosion resistance makes it suitable for use in valves. Moreover, as SUS316 contains molybdenum, it has a particularly good acid resistance.
Brass balls
It is made of copper and copper alloy (brass) wires (JISH3260/Alloy number C2700). As it is highly resistant to rusting, it is suitable for general valves.
Plastic balls
Various characteristics, such as lightness, chemical resistance, electric insulation, elasticity and wear resistance, of engineering plastics, including polyacetal, polypropylene, nylon 6, 66, 12, fluoroplastic and ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, are utilized to make valves and shafts.
Ceramic balls
Materials including alumina, zirconia, silicon nitride and silicon carbide are used for purposes that are suitable for their various characteristics, such as lightness, thermal shock resistance, wear resistance and chemical resistance.
