Sasa Dango (rice cake wrapped with bamboo leaves)

Characteristics: The product is famous as a souvenir representative of Niigata. Making much of the blessings of nature, we are committed to bamboo leaves collected in Niigata Prefecture and highlight their fragrance. Dango (rice cake) dough is mixed with an appropriate quantity of mugwort and finished with a soft color. Bean paste manufactured entirely in-house is wrapped in dango dough having an appropriate mugwort flavor to provide this easy-to-eat sasa dango.

Ingredients: Top-quality rice flour, sugar, red beans, glutinous rice flour, mugwort, starch syrup, salt, enzymes

How to preserve: The product is preservable in a freezer in a household refrigerator. You must wait 60 to 90 minutes for it to thaw at room temperature. (No need for heating.) After thawing, eat it in good time.

Prize awarded: Excellent Technique Award at the 22nd National Grand Confectionery Exhibition. Accredited as a specialty by Niigata City Hall.

Sasa Zakura

Characteristics: The product has been developed to invoke the image of the flower of Japan: the cherry blossom. Dango dough is given a light pink color. The bean paste to be wrapped is made by cutting cherry leaves into pieces and is kneaded with the paste to highlight the fragrance of cherry blossoms. This is a product that we are proud of, evoking images of the season of cherry blossoms. It is highly reputed as a sister product to accompany Sasa Dango.
