SHINKAWA Sensor Technology, Inc.

We are a manufacturer specializing in vibration surveillance devices

We were a development and manufacturing division of Shinkawa Electric Co., Ltd., which provides measurement and control solutions. We make use of technology cultivated over many years to provide products and services related to displacement and vibration sensors, vibration monitoring, and analysis and diagnostic systems. We were split from Shinkawa Electric Co., Ltd. in 1994 and started doing business as a specialized manufacturer of vibration monitoring instruments. We are determined to make rapid progress in further technical development and quality improvement.
Our turbine supervisory instruments are one of our main product lines. These products use various types of sensors and provide a wide range of functionality such as condition monitoring, analysis, and diagnosis. They are extensively used for turbines, and also for large rotating machines and other important machinery.

Displacement sensors are another of our main product lines. They are widely used in special areas including inspection cars for the Shinkansen bullet train services, rocket engines, nuclear power generation, semiconductor manufacturing, and magnet bearings. They are extensively used as feelers for various industrial machines and also for testing and research.

We are working on developing new creative products based on outstanding sensor and analysis and diagnosis technologies. We are further expanding the fields of application of our technologies.

Seminars and vibration analysis and diagnosis services
Vibration diagnosis technique seminars: ISO 18436-2-compliant machine condition monitoring and diagnostic technician (vibration) qualification acquisition seminars
In FY2004 the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers launched a certification system for "ISO 18436-2-compliant Mechanical Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis Engineer (Vibration)” for the purpose of international standardization of the technical level of machine condition monitoring and diagnostics.
- Obtaining this qualification requires education, training, and practical experience to prove that the technician understands the principles and procedures related to vibration-based machine condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques.
- Our company is an accredited training organization that can grant the qualification for the ISO 18436-2-compliant mechanical condition monitoring and diagnosis technician (vibration) certificate test.
- Along with the start of this qualification system, our company was certified as an official training organization for trainees to acquire the examination qualification.
* For details on this certification system, refer to the website of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Vibration analysis and diagnostic services: Specialists in machine condition monitoring and diagnosis provide services to contribute to the safe operation of your plant.
[From data collection to analysis and diagnosis services by ISO machine condition monitoring and diagnosis technicians (vibration)]
It is said that 40 percent of problems with plant equipment are caused by vibrations generated by rotating machinery. When a problem occurs, for example, you cannot estimate its cause with vibration monitors alone. There are also device errors for which you cannot make a diagnosis only by amplitude monitoring. Our vibration analysis and diagnosis services for rotating machinery bring together specialist knowledge and contribute to the safe operation of plants.
Technician qualification certification is provided by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers based on ISO 18436-2 to perform measurement and analysis of mechanical vibrations using portable or fixed sensors and equipment.
Our specialists with this qualification perform analysis and diagnosis.
