With a history of about 3,000 years, Dogo Onsen hot springs is said to be one of the three oldest hot spring areas in Japan. Funaya Ryokan was established at this location of Dogo Onsen in 1627. For more than 390 years since then, the inn has been loved by many people as a place to stay during their travels. While we cherish tradition and formal etiquette, we also take in new things, if we find they are good, to welcome our guests and make them feel comfortable. That is the spirit of Funaya.
