Introduction to our products

"Rika Chan"
-Rika Chan is a Pepper application for retail stores that manages customers and inventory. Rika Chan uses mechanisms of image and video analyses for which AI is utilized.
-By utilizing the video analysis mechanism for which AI is used, Rika Chan, in real time, analyzes images obtained by the camera incorporated in Pepper. Thanks to Rika Chan, the Pepper recognizes actions (such as picking up a product and putting it into the shopping basket) of customers who come close to the store shelf and promotes sales in response to these actions. 
-By using the camera incorporated in a Pepper and taking photos of store shelves, Rika Chan judges inventory conditions and notifies the staff of the conditions via PCs or smartphones. 
-For the image analysis technology used for inventory management, we use our original model that is transferred and learned from "AlexNet" which won ILSVRC (ImageNet large scale visual recognition challenge). High-precision recognition, the max. recognition rate of 98.5%, is made possible.

At the shop, the Pepper automatically speaks to customers to attract their attention.
-Sales promotion in front of the store shelf
In front of the store shelf, the Pepper recognizes customer actions and automatically acts in response to the recognition results.

Pepper automatically judges the conditions of inventory on shop shelves and informs the staff of the conditions. 
-Guiding customers in the shop
A self-propelling Pepper takes customers to their desired selling space.

"Kaigi Kun"
-Kaigi Kun is a Pepper application that incorporates a natural conversation engine for which AI is utilized, that can recognize feelings of humans through their facial expressions and in the context of conversation, and that are dedicated to nursing homes and welfare facilities.
-Human conversation is composed of elements including not only the words and sentences that are uttered, but also facial expressions and the context of conversation. Based on these elements, a person judges the feelings of the conversation partner. Kaigi Kun is equipped with a natural conversation engine, which is developed to make such complicated human conversation possible between a human and a robot, to achieve conversation that is more similar to conversation between humans. 
-Thanks to the natural conversation engine, Pepper recognizes "the context of conversation," "intonation," and "facial expressions of the speaker" and analyzes these elements through Deep Learning. The recognition and analysis lead to natural conversation that matches the feelings of the conversation partner.

What is "Pepper for Biz"? 
-Softbank Corp. provides various use plans for Pepper. Pepper for Biz is one of the above plans that is dedicated to corporate bodies.  

The main differences between Pepper for Biz and the generally sold Pepper include the following: 
-Robo Application for business (application for tasks) is installed by default. 
-Users can use the business services (Pepper for Biz cloud services) that come with the above application.  
-Premium support is combined with maintenance service. 

Description of "Pepper for Biz cloud services"
-At present, the following four types of services can be used as "Pepper for Biz cloud services." Users can go to the dedicated website via a browser to view and operate each of the services.  
In addition, each service requires the user to log in to the Aldebaran account preset in Pepper. After logging in to the service, the user can execute tasks in an integrated manner such as job customization and application distribution management for all Peppers connected to the Aldebaran account.

Our company has built up experience in consultation about IT implementation and AI technology in the distribution industry.
