In this method, non-wood materials (FEB, straw, bamboo), which are agricultural waste, are quickly turned into pulp by digesting at atmospheric pressure and 100°C with a new vertical type high-density pulper using few chemicals. By achieving 92% alpha-cellulose, dissolving pulp of high-purity can be produced. The simple system reduces both the initial investment and environmental burden. This method allows us to manufacture fibers from bagasse and FEB, and is the world’s first successful case. We have conducted this project in cooperation with Shimizu Corporation.
