[Company strength]
We can work with universities in Hokkaido to consider all the elements in the user’s use environment and propose value-added materials and products. This includes material composition adjustment, shape changes, and breakage cause investigation from technical and academic perspectives. We can also provide detailed support for customer needs such as after-sales maintenance, which is a strength of our company. One of our investing companies is in the recycling business, so we can reduce cost and environmental footprint by recovering and recycling used products.


[Business description]
Our company manufactures and sells plain cast iron, ductile cast iron, special cast iron, plain cast steel, and special cast steel (heat- or wear-resistant). We offer integrated operations including design, wood pattern making, shaping, metal melting and tapping, pouring, dismantling, finishing, and thermal processing. We also provide additional services for special cast steels. These include identification and evaluation testing on the wear mode, proposals for the most suitable shape for the use environment, manufacturing and sales, and after-sales maintenance services.

Casting

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our main product is multi-component cast steel, which is a material in which high-hardness carbide is separated and crystalized within the cast steel’s structure. Multiple carbide formative elements such as Cr, Mo, V, Nb, and W can be added so the entire material including the surface as well as the core is hardened evenly. We have successfully extended the service life of the material considering the results of dry sliding abrasion experiments at a university in Hokkaido (joint research partner). The material has a service life that is eight times longer than conventional wear-resistant high-chromium cast iron material (12% Cr).

Our company is quite young, but our recycling department has developed and productized wear-resistant metal materials, and our casting department has worked to manufacture and sell high-value-added castings. Both departments are now working together by combining their strengths. We will strive to develop heat- and wear-resistant materials and other new materials, with the aim of becoming a specialist in these materials. We will cater to customer needs based on the customer’s use environment, and develop wear-resistant material for the customer. This is done by comprehensively taking care of all the elements including material composition adjustment, shape change, breakage cause investigation, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

One of our executives replies to inquiries as the point of contact in our sales activities. We listen to our customers, and recommend the most suitable shape and material. These recommendations are incorporated into our production activities within the plant. Our philosophy is to have the sales representatives and factory staff smoothly cooperate, and respond as a team. We hope to satisfy customer needs by responding in a similar way in future market cultivation and overseas expansion.

Our market share is unclear, but we receive inquiries from companies and other organizations that are looking for new materials.
