We are an R&D company licensed to manufacture and sell medical devices.
Our Toccare clinical finger-mounted oxygenation monitor is a medical device jointly developed with Hamamatsu University School of Medicine and Shizuoka University. Our company also developed brain NIRS jointly with Shizuoka University. The brain is a human organ that is still far from clarified. Our company has spent many years developing a sensor to visualize changes of blood volume in only the frontal lobes. Mental factors affect blood volume in the frontal lobes. This is why it is impossible to accurately measure the emotions of test subjects if a headgear type device is attached to the head, because they become nervous. Our company developed a sun visor-type device that does not impart stress to test subjects. This ultra-light device weighs only 100 grams, including the battery.
This device has four measurement channels, and measures the oxygen saturation rSO2 (%) of each channel (oxygenation, hemoglobin deoxygenation, and skin oxygenation). It is wireless and powered by two AAA batteries, and weighs 100 g (including batteries). URL: http://www.astem-jp.com
We are now developing a low-price device for consumers.
The sensor probe is mounted on an examiner’s finger. The sensor measures the oxygen concentration in the blood at the touched point when the examiner touches a patient. The Italian word for "touch" is "toccare," which is why we named this product Toccare (Model KN15). We developed this product to satisfy obstetricians' requests for measuring the oxygen concentrations of babies at delivery to reduce neonatal asphyxia and cerebral palsy. Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, Shizuoka University, and our company developed the sensor with the support of the Japan Science and Technology Agency and marketed it as a medical device.
You can measure the sugar content of fruit without damaging it. This device named Amaica is widely known among fruit producers in Japan. It is easy to use. Just put a piece of fruit on the tray and the device will indicate the sugar content in only about one second. Amaica is applicable to apples, pears, peaches, mangoes, tomatoes, and the like. This device is available by monthly rental.
