Morihide Orimono Co., Ltd.
Other presentation
[Company strength] Our company can manufacture a wide variety of textiles, such as elaborate patterned fabrics using the latest Jacquard looms and fabrics with nuanced texture using traditional hand looms. We also try to restore lost traditional textile skills. Kiryu Omeshi is a high-end silk textile favored by eleventh Shogun, Tokugawa Ienari. It had been lost until our company restored the necessary twisting machine equipment to reproduce it. Our Kiryu Omeshi has been adopted by the National Bunraku Theater to make their costumes. This fabric is also used in our Omeshi Akasuri cloth for bathing use, which is popular at department stores and other retailers. [Business description] Our company is an established textile manufacturer that has been operating since 1877. We have three nationally qualified traditional craftsmen in-house, and we use the traditional Kiryu textile method to manufacture kimono fabrics, cloth calendars, and traditional cloth products for bathing use. We also operate Textile Museum Yukari, which is a hands-on experience exhibition facility in our factory with a traditional sawtooth roof. It provides dye workshops and exhibits historical references on textiles. Textile Museum Yukari has received national heritage designation in Japan. [Industry] Textile manufacturing [Representative's message] We will continue to improve technologies and design to spread Japanese traditional crafts. We look forward to hearing from retailers who are looking for Cool Japan items for foreign tourists coming to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. We also hope to meet companies that need a partner to manufacture textiles on a contract basis. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We hope to participate in exhibitions and business conferences held in Japan, and display and make proposals on Cool Japan products. We will make use of the quality of Kiryu textiles as a Japanese traditional craft.
