The Katsunuma Grace Winery brews wine from grapes cultivated mainly in Koshu (in and around Koshu City) in which they have been cultivated for more than 1,000 years in Japan. We are continuously making efforts to improve the quality of Koshu Wine and spread the "Koshu" brand, a representative wine brand of Japan, to the world. The Akeno Misawa Winery has ideal terroir, which is equivalent to famous terroir in the world and equipped with conditions best suited to grape cultivation, and thoroughly manages grape cultivation. We produce wine while taking advantage of the proximity between the farm we manage and the winery.
Akeno Misawa Farm
Cool weather in the highlands and long hours of sunlight mature grapes in which an acidic taste, the core of the taste of wine, is miraculously balanced with a rich fruity taste. No chemical herbicides nor chemical fertilizers are used in the Misawa Farm. The Farm cultivates grapes, cherishing craftsmanship typical of Japanese.
The Katsunuma area is an alluvial fan which is mainly covered with sandy soil that drains well. Therefore, since ancient times, the area has been land suitable for grape cultivation. In the mountain regions, the representatives of which are Toriihira and Hishiyama, grapes with more rich taste are produced. The performance of Grace Wine produced by our company, which has been focusing on these areas since early on, is receiving attention.
