Although we excel in FA system development, we also produce equipment and machinery. Centered on our Tateshina Plant, we handle mechanical design and electrical design (both electrical and electronic) as well as component layout, production, and adjustment. Examples of equipment and machinery we have produced include various LCD panel equipment (inspection equipment, cutting equipment, washing equipment, loaders, conveyor lines, etc.), various component assembly equipment for the auto industry, various production equipment for the food product industry, various component assembly equipment for the medical industry, assembly equipment for various electrical and electronic components, assembly equipment for various small electrical appliances, and many other custom-built FA machinery.

[Business description]
Our company develops factory automation (FA) software and equipment. Examples of past software development projects include various equipment control systems, SECS communications systems, loader control systems, image-processing programs, universal communications libraries, solar-cell inspection equipment control software, online ordering systems, liquid-crystal inspection equipment PLC software, motion controller UMAC program implementation, SCARA robot control program implementation, and touch-panel display processing implementation.

Interesting past development projects include 1) an ice-cream stick inserter that automatically inserts sticks into ice cream bars quickly and accurately and that uses image-processing technology to detect contaminated, split, splintered, or otherwise defective sticks to increase production line productivity; 2) machine-vision technology that performs a sequence of operations at high speed in which image-processing software extracts and identifies information from images captured by sophisticated cameras; and 3) a semiconductor equipment communication standard (SECS) communications driver that provides a communications environment in line with the individual rules of each factory, enabling the development of low-cost systems supporting the global SECS standard without requiring any specialized SECS knowledge.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Machine-vision technology is ideal for inspecting medical supplies, food products, and processed surfaces because it enables contactless inspection. Machine vision also permits faster inspection than by the naked eye when used with high-resolution cameras. Moreover, hazardous materials can be inspected safely through full automation. We plan to use our machine-vision technology to open up markets in such fields as circuit pattern inspections on semiconductor production lines, circuit pattern inspections on liquid-crystal production lines, inspections for contamination on medical-supply production lines, character and barcode scanning recognition, inspections of paint or coating colors, inspections for printing or color irregularities, height measurement of superfine objects, and construction of security systems using motion detection.
