Patented technology, Segmented-Structure DLC
Diamond-like carbon (DLC) has been turned into a segmented structure to control the spread of cracks and peeling, thereby increasing wear resistance. This is a patented technology of ours.
A membrane-forming device equipped with a DC single-pulse power supply forms membranes at low temperature (50ºC and up). It is applicable not only to metals but to resins as well.

[Company strength]
Our film deposition apparatus enables film deposition at low temperature (50°C), and can be applied to substrates with low heat resistance such as resin and rubber. The segment structure overcomes the problem of conventional DLC which easily breaks and the breakage progresses, and increases the abrasion resistance. We aim to use the DLC film for applications in which the conventional DLC cannot be used, by utilizing the high hardness, low friction, corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, and gas barrier properties of DLC.

[Business description]
Our company was established to commercialize and disseminate diamond-like carbon (S-DLC) characterized by its segment structure. S-DLC was invented by Professor Naoto Ohtake of the Tokyo Institute of Technology. iMott Inc., a venture firm from this Institute, has been researching and developing applied technology. We obtained patents for S-DLC manufacturing and film deposition apparatuses, and are conducting film deposition under contract, and manufacturing/sales of deposition apparatus, as well as patent licensing.

We aim to reduce energy loss and life cycle cost due to friction/abrasion in all fields by utilizing the segment-structured DLC. We actively develop products for customers utilizing our unique technology.
