We make progress with history!

We aim at becoming a company that not only provides miso (soybean paste), soy sauce, and seasoning, but also proposes healthy and tasty eating habits at the same time. 
We proudly have a wide range of excellent product lineups the main of which is "Phantasmal Miso" favored by many customers all over Japan. We provide various information items such as those on delicious foods together with our products.

Sales Pitch

"Modern master craftsmen", Tomihiro Nagata and his successors
Tomihiro Nagata is a "modern master craftsman". By fully utilizing his experience and intuition, which have been nurtured for more than 50 years, and his great insight as well as sense of taste, he has judged the timing in which "Phantasmal Miso" is fit to eat. In 1995, the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare gave him the award "Modern Master Craftsman". In 1996, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries gave him the award "Food Master", and then in 1999, the prime minister gave him the "Ojuhosho" (Medal with a Yellow Ribbon for industriousness).
Environmental measures
In 1999, YAMAUCHIHONTEN installed a rainwater permeating basin. In 2009, we became the first minor enterprise to reach an agreement with the Water Recycling Farming Promotion Council. Since then, we have been supporting paddy field flooding projects around the midstream of Shirakawa River and contributing to groundwater replenishment in the Kumamoto area. These activities are expected to replenish 120,000 tons of groundwater annually.
