Our company develops and manufactures potentiometers and displacement sensors.
Our company has remained a pioneer in the development of analog displacement sensors since its inception 60 years ago, and has developed conductive plastic potentiometers (Green Pot), contactless potentiometers using a magnetoresistive element (Blue Pot), and contactless potentiometers using a Hall IC (Orange Pot). We are currently undertaking development of new “digital sensors (encoders),” and continue our history of being a proactive pioneer who always aspires to come up with innovative sensors ahead of the competition, be it in Japan or abroad.
- Potentiometers [windings products (W-w Pot)]
Our winding-type potentiometers combine a resistor element where copper-nickel or nickel-chromium resistance wires wound around the core or card with homogeneous tension are combined with the contact of a precious metal alloy to maintain precise and stable performance. They have thus been widely used not only in measuring instruments, but in various other applications as well.
1. Small resistance temperature coefficient This is ±20 ppm/K with a resistance wire having a small temperature coefficient. 2. Flexible resistance design Distances between windings and resistance wire diameters can be varied to produce a wide range of resistance values from several to hundreds of ohms. 3. Low contact resistance Lower contact resistance than other resistor elements. 4. Intermediate tap The intermediate tap can be pulled out from the desired location.
- Encoder products (magnetic)
Magnetic encoders refer generically to encoders containing magnets and magneto-electric converting devices in the sensor. At Midori Precisions, as a rough classification, analog output products are referred to as potentiometers, while digital output products are called encoders. Magnetic encoders are non-contact, which makes them highly environmentally resistant and enables position detection with high precision and high reliability.
- Resolution can be raised to very high levels with relatively smaller, inexpensive models because our products entail few physical constraints and lower rises in the numbers of constituent parts. - Unless the magnetic field is disturbed, these models can be used even in dusty or dirty environments - These models incorporate fewer electronics parts than optical models, which makes it easy to reduce power consumption.
