Commercializing technology for earthquake-proof (damping) universal joints using rigid PVC piping

Our technology involves mobile universal joints that rotate 360-degrees with a revolution flexibility of 28 degrees in one direction in a spherical diameter structure, which provide damping in case of an earthquake. Additionally, rubber packing is easy to replace. (Packing typically lasts 5 to 10 years.) -- It also has a structure that does not leave any residue.
Piping can be installed easily with flexibility in its gradient angle and direction, and this saves time in installation.
Universal joints available today can move only 15 degrees in one direction. If you need them to move more than 15 degrees, you have to adjust the angle with a pipe with its straight pipe bent, and this leaves residue.

When an earthquake occurs, straight pipes absorb the shock by twisting. Their resilience, however, is entirely dependent on the joints, resulting in cracks, damage, and leakage. For building elbows, with their angles fixed, such as 90-degree elbows, building law requires that a gradient angle of at least 2% be provided. However, elbows of 90 degrees are also used. If a gradient is provided with force, it will only be 1% at the most. In fact, the reality is that they are not inserted all the way in but are stopped before that and fixed with adhesive. If, therefore, the correct gradient is given, the joint will develop a groove inside. Dirt will then stick adhere tot it, thereby making it difficult for drain water to flow. When an earthquake occurs, the principle of leverage means that the equipment is vulnerable to breakdown.

These are new, multi-purpose universal joints for piping. They are comprised of deformed universal joints, S-pipe universal joints, and universal joints from elbows. International patents are currently under application. They are used in countries vulnerable to earthquakes (USA, EU, China, the Philippines, and Indonesia).
