Nippon Telesoft Co., Ltd.

Overseas market growth through low-price braille equipment

We manufacture and sell equipment for blind people such as braille printers and braille displays, develop industrial computer software, and conduct other businesses. We sell braille equipment not only in Japan but also overseas. Our printer is the only one that can simultaneously print both braille and ink characters, and won the Tokyo Technology Grand Prize for this function and its multi-language ability. Our products have a high reputation, but the price is high due to low-volume production. The market is monopolized by products made in Sweden, which have a 70% share, so we will strive to expand overseas by developing low-price equipment.

[Company strength]
Making equipment for blind people is a niche business, but ours is the only braille printer that can simultaneously print braille and ink characters, so we provide products with various features. However, production volume is low so the price is high. There is a pressing need to improve the provision of information to blind people worldwide, so we make attractive products accordingly. The market is monopolized by products made in Sweden, which have a 70% share, but we believe there is room for our company to expand, and so we are entering overseas markets.

[Representative's message]
Braille printers are a niche business, but involve precision and high quality unique to Japanese products. However, we cannot break into the market only with precision and high quality; we need to develop more marketable equipment by introducing new knowledge and technology, and so we will use the J-GoodTech network.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We are expanding overseas by developing low-price equipment.
