Dream One Kagoshima Co.,Ltd.

Smart agriculture business

-By using the bult-in sensors and camera (for weather, soil, photos, and images), the "Dr. KAKASHI", an agricultural field environment measuring instrument, measures the cultivation status in an open field or agricultural facility to visualize the environment for growing crops with values and images.
-The measurement data can be monitored around the clock though the cloud service "Agri Multi Sensing" of Fujitsu Limited.
-The accumulated measurement data is used for the provision of information services such as production technology analysis, alert e-mail distribution, and area- or product-specific databases.

IoT tools for accelerating smart agriculture
Stationary microclimate observation device
-Outdoor agricultural field measuring instrument
By using the built-in weather sensor, soil sensor, and web camera, the instrument measures environmental data items such as temperature, humidity, wind speed, rainfall, soil temperature, and soil moisture. The user can view the data items on the screen of a PC or smartphone.
-With functions built in one body, the instrument specializes in stationary observation of microclimate.
Its power is supplied from a battery storing renewable energy derived from solar power generation. The built-in small-sized computer (raspberry Pi) controls the schedule and power saving. The instrument starts up every 10 minutes.
The instrument comprises devices such as a CPU, a communication modem (incorporating a SIM card), a charging controller, a battery, a solar panel, a weather sensor, a soil sensor, and a web camera.
-Data communication and cloud
The measurement data is sent to "Agri Multi Sensing SaaS", an "Akisai" cloud service provided by Fujitsu Limited, through 4G data communication.
-Main specifications
Measurement intervals: 10 min.
Weather sensor: Temperature (-20 to +60ºC), humidity (1 to 99%), illuminance (0 to 300,000 lux), rainfall (200 mm/h), wind direction (0 to 359°), wind speed (0 to 50 m/s), and ultraviolet rays (0 to 20,000 μW/cm)
Soil sensor: Soil temperature (-10 to +50ºC) and soil moisture (0 to 100%)
Web camera: Still images, without panning, tilting, or zooming
Environmental conditions: Operation and data storage in a temperature range from -10 to +50ºC. Condensation must not occur. Resistant against water droplets.
Soil, weather, and paddy field sensors that use LPWA communication
-Characteristics
Set up the Gateway base station at the center. Set up multiple slave units and measurement sensors in positions within up to several kilometers from the base station. Light measurement data is exchanged between the base station and the slave units via LPWA communication (LoRa standards, 920 MHz) in a specific low-power radio network. The base unit simultaneously sends the measurement data, collected from the slave units, to the server in the cloud, through 4G communication (for example, 2.1 GHz or 800 MHz).
-LPWA communication
LPWA is an abbreviation for Low Power Wide Area. In the Low Power state, dry-cell batteries or the like are used. In the Wide Area state, long-distance communication, up to several kilometers, is enabled.
-Measurement sensors
The usable sensors include a soil sensor for open fields or agricultural facilities and a water level/temperature sensor for paddy fields.
-Main specifications
-Measurement intervals: 10 min.
-Soil sensor: Soil temperature (-10 to +50ºC) and soil moisture (0 to 100%)
-Environmental conditions: Operation and data storage in a temperature range from -10 to +50ºC. Condensation must not occur. Resistant against water droplets.
Live camera remote monitoring system and NAS recording that utilize solar power generation
-Merits
The solar-powered live camera remotely records (by panning, tilting, and zooming) the images of growing crops in 5,000,000 pixels and stores them in C960 the network attached storage (NAS). The recorded data can be used as basic data for managing agriculture and predicting crop growth/diseases.
-Solar-power generation
The electricity independently generated by the solar panel (at least 300 W) is stored in the battery (at least 75 Ah 12 V). After energy input and output are controlled by the charging controller and the DC-AC inverter, power is supplied and timer control is performed.
-Equipment configuration
Live camera (PTZ, 5,000,000 pixels, and IP65), router (LTE communication, incorporating a SIM card, and 50 GB/month), PoE HUB (5 ports), NAS recording device (RAID1), temperature control in the warehouse (temperature sensor and ventilation fan), operation control (timer control with power interruption backup), and external antenna
Information services and value-added tools
"Agri Multi Sensing SaaS", a cloud service provided by Fujitsu Limited
-Merits
The user can view the data, measured by the smart IoT device "Dr. KAKASHI", on the screen of a smartphone or PC.
-Screen structure
Latest values, graphs, taken photos, and CSVs downloaded every 24 hours, week, month, or year
-Added functions
Threshold setting, alert e-mail, function generation, calendar sharing, and memo recording

Measurement of the actinometer and quantameter by the data logger
-The data logger measures and records data from the actinometer and quantameter from one second.
-The data logger easily collects primary data that allows the detailed analysis of the environment for the photosynthesis of crops.
