Koike Keihen Senkousyo Co., Ltd.

Development of cushions and pillows friendly to the body, using natural fibers

We have specialized in dyeing in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, where the fiber industry has prospered. We have developed products using natural fibers since 2004, with the concept of “friendly to the body”. We developed a portable sitting pressure dispersion cushion to ease the situation of people who use wheelchairs, a thin sheet-like cushion which reduces the pressure on the bottom, and which causes less fatigue. The portable sitting pressure dispersion cushion can also be used as a bed when sleeping, and also helps prevent pressure sores. The functionality of the cushion is currently being tested in local hospitals and nursing homes.

[Company strength]
We have specialized in dyeing in Ashikaga, where the fiber production industry remains strong. We develop and sell new products in cooperation with SMEs in the production area, even as the fiber industry moves overseas. This will protect our production area to become independent by having original technology in order to cooperatively transfer technology remaining in the production area, and having products which can be sold from the production area. The final products enabled us to broaden our perspective also to overseas and conduct business activities.
