[Company strength]
We have just seven employees, and yet designed the factory layout for work efficiency. We carry out the following manufacturing processes in an integrated manner by our multi-skilled workers: artificial drying of raw timber, primary inspection of timber, defect removal, size decision, grooving in the length direction, sand-finishing, grooving in the width direction, secondary inspection, final inspection, and packing. These processes are carried out in this order. Our products offer the warmth of pure materials and we strictly meet delivery deadlines. We excel in product planning free from preconceived ideas in the wood industry, and do sales and business directly. As a result, our commercial, unique materials are highly evaluated by customers.

[Business description]
The present representative used to run a separate wholesale company of building materials, which took over a flooring factory of a customer in November 2013, and then started the business. We combine our know-how of preserving wood with the planning and selling of building materials, gained while the representative was involved in wholesaling building materials, and we manufacture the materials at the flooring factory which the representative took over. We process, manufacture and sell wood flooring materials (wood from broad-leaved trees: oak, elm, Japanese ash, castor aralia, etc.) grown in Hokkaido. We mainly supply OEM products to wholesale companies which handle domestic building materials.

[Strength of products/technologies]
The broad-leaved trees whose wood we use are rare in Hokkaido, and it is difficult for other flooring factories to secure sufficient quantities of these trees. However, we have established procurement links that enable us to secure sufficient quantities to supply customers. Some tree species have high stress, and some have peculiarities such as warp and cracks. We reduce the moisture content, which causes stress (we can carry out drying which reduces the moisture content to 5%, whereas the ordinary content is 10%) by boiling and drying processes suitable for tree species, followed by sand-finishing. We thus supply commercial materials with a warm feel.

[Representative's message]
We aim to contribute to forestry in Hokkaido and employment in Shiriuchi Town. We do this by manufacturing and selling pure flooring which is an important product made from the wood of broad-leaved trees grown in Hokkaido, leveraging the techniques of our factory with a history of more than 50 years. Shipping logs outside of Hokkaido and shipping pulpwood have low added value and cannot contribute to production, employment, and the economic cycle of the region.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
The chairman and the president handle inquiries, and sales expansion is done by direct response. The president mainly handles technical matters, and if direct discussion or response is necessary, the chairman goes to the customer for negotiations. They make proposals and arrangements about the quantity and delivery period while explaining the key points of our commercial materials for users. We will develop sales channels in a similar manner. For overseas development, we will also handle offers similarly. We will consider hiring new sales staff as the number of inquiries increases.

We are one of the few companies that can stably manufacture and supply flooring materials made of pure broad-leaved trees grown in Hokkaido.

We do business with Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd. We have already completed one building in Hokkaido which was highly evaluated, and have started preliminary discussions about new properties. We do business in areas outside Hokkaido for Sumitomo, in cooperation with Channel Original Co., Ltd., our customer. We have been asked to supply products for homes to be built by Sumitomo Forestry Co., Ltd. several years later.
