Fukai Seisakusho Co., Ltd.

We have an integrated manufacturing system from part development to mold design and presswork.

Our company mainly manufactures pressed parts for automobile frames. We also design, manufacture, and sell press molds, jigs, and equipment. We acquired a patent for an under-floor heat shield plate for automobiles that has an embossed shape to make the plate thin and lightweight. The technology has been registered with the trade name embrella®, and it received the Minister of the Environment's Award for Global Warming Prevention Activity (Technical Development and Commercialization Category) in FY2013. We have an independent patent, so this technology is available to any automobile manufacturers and for any materials with no restrictions. It was first adopted by Suzuki for their Swift model, and then by many other manufacturers.

[Company strength]
We received the Minister of the Environment's Award for Global Warming Prevention Activity (Technical Development and Commercialization Category) in FY2013 for our embrella® technology. We have an independent patent, so this technology is available to any automobile manufacturers and for any materials with no restrictions. We propose a business model of local production for local consumption by licensing, which includes providing manufacturing equipment and know-how. This technology is friendly to the environment and maximizes profits when it is adopted. We can also simulate press molding at the virtual stage to support speedy product development.

[Business description]
We design, manufacture, and sell automotive pressed parts, molds, jigs, and equipment.

[Industry]
Automotive pressed parts manufacturing

[Strength of products/technologies]
Your current material can be made 30% thinner while maintaining its rigidity. Plate thickness reduction produces a great VE effect by lowering the weight and the material cost. Our embrella® technology boasts the greatest thickness reduction among similar existing technologies. It is also compatible with high secondary press moldability. This technology is applicable in much the same way as designing parts moldable from conventional materials, including the processes. Almost all metal materials can be processed at room temperature, even such costly materials as stainless steel and titanium alloy.

[Representative's message]
We want to make the most of our unique patented technology beyond our existing fields. Part weight reduction directly leading to environmental friendliness and cost reduction is in demand in various industries. We hope you will consider our solution in any field, before discussing replacement with a new material, which tends to require high development and investment costs and lower productivity. We are not bound to in-house production, and we will extend and enrich our partner network supplying embrella® by licensing in Japan and abroad.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Our company newly established a sales and development department to answer inquiries and requests from major companies about embrella® only, which we started from this fiscal year. We also established a preparatory office for North America in the previous fiscal year. We will establish Fukai Toyotetsu Indiana Corporation (FTIC) jointly with Toyoda Iron Works Co., Ltd. to extend our business in North America. We will promote the expansion of our licensing business in Asia and South America with local or Japanese companies by making the most of existing resources.

[Market share/Ranking]
Our share may be less than 1% even in the domestic Japanese market at present. However, from now on we will extend our share by licensing, including to competitors.
