[Company strength] We have an integrated production system for the processes of manufacturing base optical fiber materials and wire drawing processes, so we have the flexibility to meet any required specifications. There are very few manufacturers in the non-communications sector worldwide, so we have attracted interest from leading precision equipment manufacturers and other businesses. [Business description] We design, fabricate, manufacture, and sell optical fiber components. We manufacture on an order-made basis, and we concentrate on optical fiber fields other than the communications field. We also fuse, weld, and polish optical fiber and glass capillaries. We have participated in METI and MIC R&D projects since our foundation, and we take on the development of new technologies. [Industry] Optical fiber industry [Strength of products/technologies] 1. We can fabricate the incoming light’s spot size for tapered fibers to any fiber diameter on the output side. Tapered fibers do not require alignment because they do not have a condenser lens assembly, which allows for smaller devices that are highly resilient to vibration. We can control the minimum size down to less than 1 µm, which is the industry’s narrowest size. Our tapered fibers are suitable for near-field application devices. 2. We have prototyped a 1 × 128 channel collimator array and achieved a parallel optical spatial propagation distance of 30 mm/1 dB, which is among the world’s longest. We are presently developing a matrix array for wavelength selective switching (WSS) components to be used in next-generation optical communications. 3. Our optical power combiner can multiplex up to 61 channels. Its has heat-resistant construction that uses glass welding technology instead of adhesives. More channels can be added to suit specific needs. [Representative's message] We have recently expanded our sales channels by exhibiting at domestic trade shows twice a year. We are now expanding overseas by way of trading companies, but we are considering exhibiting at trade shows in the United States, China, and elsewhere in the near future. We are investing our efforts into developing original products using state-of-the-art technologies. These products will address diverse market needs to broaden our sales channels both domestically and overseas.
