Kato Seisakusho Co., Ltd.

We have strength in mass-production technology for automobile parts that can only be manufactured by two companies in the world.

We deal with metal pressing processing with a focus on automobile parts, such as oxygen sensor parts for exhaust gas and airbag parts. Only two companies in the world can conduct mass production of deep-drawn precision parts made of stainless steel, which are used for the metal fuel piping of automobiles. We mass-produce various products by taking advantage of our experience in mass production with a global share exceeding 50%. We can perform optimal-site production by using factories in 5 countries, including Japan.

[Company strength]
Industry needs have been advancing and diversifying in the context of an ultra-competitive environment on a global scale. We have been urged to establish an optimal-site production and optimal-site supply system (in Japan, the USA, Korea, China, and Singapore), enhance our technology, and improve our production system. These are requirements for our manufacturers in these times of globalization. We conduct in-house design and manufacturing of automation machines and equipment, automatic measuring equipment, and inspecting equipment. This is done in order to support customer needs. We are working hard to acquire 100% satisfaction from our customers.

[Business description]
We conduct metal pressing, die design and manufacturing, plastic insert molding, and assembly processing. We focus on automobile parts (mainly oxygen sensor parts for exhaust gas, air bag parts, and fuel supply parts). Our processing is carried out under an integrated production system and optimal-site production among factories in five countries including Japan. This is how we have prepared a production system that can supply products to any place required by the customer.

Metal pressing parts manufacturing

[Strength of products/technologies]
We have experience in mass-producing cylindrical deep-drawn products for oxygen sensor parts for automobile exhaust gas, for which had a global share exceeding 50% in the past. We make full use of this experience to mass-produce automobile airbag inflator nozzles, which have many holes (64) drilled on the cylinder side surface. We also produce fuel supply parts to which mirror surface processing is applied inside the cylinder. Fuel supply parts require precision deep drawing processing skill without scratches, burrs, and pipe wall thinning. This is necessary in order to prevent fuel leakage. Our original “plus-alpha” deep drawing processing technology has been highly evaluated. It involves mirror surface processing, multiple hole drilling, and thickening processing.

[Representative's message]
Industry needs are advancing and diversifying in the context of an ultra-competitive environment on a global scale. We have established an optimal-site production system and optimal-site supply system (in Japan, the USA, Korea, China, and Singapore) to adapt to globalization. We have also standardized our pressing processing facilities and die processing facilities in these 5 countries and fully established a crisis control system.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We are developing activities such as participation in exhibitions and opening our own exhibitions on customer sites 3 to 4 times a year. Our goal is to acquire new customers in Japan and abroad. Our engineers in the development department are also working on sales activities such as offers of trial manufacturing services from the customer’s development stage.

[Market share/Ranking]
Metal parts for fuel piping as described below: 50% share of the global market.
