Other presentation
[Company strength] Our company policy is “challenges and innovation.” We have been unremitting in our devotion to manufacturing functional plastic parts that are extremely precise, very compact, and of very high quality since out foundation in 1977. As early as the mid-1980s we constructed facilities to produce composite parts and components. We built a production plant on Cebu Island in the Philippines in 1994 to globalize our production systems. Furthermore, we built a new head office and plant in 1998 to upgrade our production lines. Our company developed the world’s first plastic lenses for mobile phones. We have achieved a molding precision of 10 nanometers. [Business description] We offer parts for optical disk drives, parts and components for communication devices, automotive parts and components, camera components, vacuum-formed trays, die design and production, and plastic lenses. [Industry] Plastic molding industry [Strength of products/technologies] We deliver a wide assortment of high-precision, miniature plastic molded parts and components with our reliable technology. Molding and assembly of small precise parts for communication devices. Molding of automotive parts and components. Die design and production for camera structural components (including parts with internal screw shapes). Molding of various plastic lenses (including contract fabrication and processing). Die design and production and molding of highly accurate plastic parts for FPD. [Representative's message] Our company’s resolution and livelihood has been precision plastic molding from our inception to the present day. We entered the optical lens industry using our precision plastic molding technology as a foundation. We now manufacture many kinds of optical parts and components. At the start of the 2000s we started to actively target partnerships with universities. Our challenge is to fuse the science and technology that universities excel in with our manufacturing technology and create products from brand-new ideas. Our current focus is on developing applications using spatially imaged iris-plane displays developed by a university. We are preparing to come out with a product in the near future that is driven by a very convenient idea. We hope it will be widely used as a groundbreaking communication tool. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We built a production plant on Cebu Island in the Philippines in 1994 to globalize our production systems. We built integrated production lines, spanning die design and production to plastic molding. We built another vacuum-forming integrated production line that starts from resin-sheet production. Our goal is to accelerate the opening of new markets while respectfully meeting our clients’ needs. [Market share/Ranking] We were the world’s No. 1 producer of carriages for floppy disk drives. We now have a share of approximately 12% of the global market for autofocus components used in smartphone cameras. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] [Media] Nikkei Shimbun, “Frontlight Guides for Liquid-Crystal Screens” (August 31, 2010); Sendai Keizaikai, “Globally Expanding Companies” (January 2013 issue; monthly publication). [Authorization/Certification] Acquired ISO 9001 and ISO 1400 certification. Government certification of specific R&D business plans. [Joint research and development] Tohoku University (development of a frontlight for reflective displays, 2010 to 2012). Tohoku University (development of a lens unit for eye-level displays, 2012 to present). [Transaction form] Prototype development orders, joint development, consignment manufacturing. [Transaction terms] Please meet with us to discuss terms. [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] We deliver structural components for cameras to major electronics manufacturers. [Main Clients / Business History (overseas)] We deliver molded camera parts to major electronics manufacturers, projector components to major optical device manufacturers, and molded automotive parts to major automotive manufacturers.
