TOHOKU ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL Co., Ltd.

Developing analytical devices that are able to detect light at the photon level

These devices can detect oxidative degradation at very early stages, which could not be determined in the past, by measuring the extremely weak light that is emitted as substances oxidize. Samples to be measured can be in solid, liquid or powder form. This technology can be utilized in many fields, including quality control, new materials development and the like, and is ideal for organic substances that require stability. TEI has agents in Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.

[Company strength]
We are able to respond swiftly and in an integrated manner to a diversity of needs, from design through inspection and completion. This includes new product development, prototyping, mass production and special orders. Our basic orientation toward research and development has given us expertise in various component technologies?digital, analog, software, mechanism, optical and others?and enables us to combine them organically. We focus on providing the highest quality products, with a commitment that has led to the acquisition of ISO 9001 certification in 2008 and ISO 14001 certification in 2004. Our work has garnered public recognition, including the “Monozukuri Nippon Grand Award” and “Excellent Miyagi Product Award." And we have earned high praise for creating our own unique products that others are unable to imitate.

[Business description]
We design, develop, manufacture and sell integrated electronics and optronics equipment and various industrial measurement systems, based on an industry/academia/government model of collaborative research and development. We pursue advances in the latest leading-edge technologies, and apply these advanced technologies to produce one-of-a-kind high performance and high quality products. Our principal product lines include chemiluminescence (CL) analyzers, which we developed in-house. We also produce peripheral devices for laser control, a variety of industrial electronic measurement systems, and systems tailor made to fit the needs of research institutions and other customers.

[Industry]
The design, manufacture and sale of electronics and photonics related equipment, and various industrial analytical systems

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our chemiluminescence analyzers have the highest sensitivity in the world, able to detect light emitted from substances at the photon level. They can detect oxidative degradation at very early stages, which traditional methods cannot, by measuring the extremely weak light emitted when materials oxidize. This analysis can be conducted on solid, liquid or powder samples, and used in a wide range of fields and applications. These include detection of early stage oxidative degradation of macromolecules (plastic, rubber), food, pharmaceuticals and biological specimens, quality control, new materials development and the like. These devices are ideal for evaluating organic substances that need to be kept in a stable condition.

[Representative's message]
We are a research and development enterprise that pioneers new fields using our own proven technologies. Our slogan is, “Without development, there will be no growth.” We are actively engaged in design and development, with the dual aims of responding to diverse customer needs and developing original products. Our principal product line consists of chemiluminescence analyzers with world leading light detection sensitivity. These devices are currently contributing to leading-edge research and development, product development and quality assurance. We are actively undertaking public relation activities overseas, as a step toward the expansion of sales channels. We also are actively soliciting customer input, through academic seminars, fairs and the like, as well as utilizing agencies overseas, and are steadily expanding our sales distribution.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Four dedicated technical sales staff in the Tokyo Branch and one in the Kyoto Branch are assigned to provide detailed responses in dealings with domestic companies. Ten technical support specialists and experts are posted in the Rifu Office, Engineering Division. Several staff under the direct leadership of the president handle overseas channel development, marketing and sales. Our organization also includes one technical support person in the Tokyo Branch and one in the Kyoto Branch, plus two in the Rifu Office, Engineering Division. We have agencies in Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States for dealings with overseas customers.
