Chugai Yukagaku Kougyou Co., Ltd.
We are a lubricating oil manufacturer with a track record of deliveries to large manufacturers.
Our company produces automotive and industrial-use lubricating oil. Our mainstay products are engine oil, gear oil, automatic transmission fluid, oil additives, and hydraulic fluid, which we sell to automakers, dealerships, repair shops, gas stations, and trading companies. We often do business with major domestic Japanese companies such as EMG Marketing Godo Kaisha, Idemitsu Kosan, Cosmo Oil Lubricants, JX Nippon Oil & Energy, and Showa Shell Sekiyu. We have shipped products to Russia, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mongolia, Myanmar, and Australia. We have grown our business by satisfying many customer needs, such as large lots, small lots, multiple product types, and multiple shipment formats.
[Company strength] Our company’s strength is our ability to handle large lots, small lots, multiple product types, and multiple shipment formats. This is achieved with our two-plant system, which makes the best use of each plant’s characteristics. We produce around 30,000 KL annually (equivalent to 150,000 200-liter drums). Deliveries range from large-shipment production, such as lorry shipments, container shipments, and drums, to small containers including 4-liter, 1-liter, and 300-ml containers. Another distinguishing feature of our company is our system that enables us to address detailed customer requests, such as short-order deliveries, repacking into small containers, and packaging operations. We are committed to flexibly satisfying each and every customer’s needs, backed by a spirit of taking on anything. [Business description] Our company produces and sells automotive and industrial-use lubricating oil. Our main products include engine oil, gear oil, automatic transmission fluid, oil additives, and hydraulic fluid. Our users include automakers, dealerships, repair shops, gas stations, and trading companies. We supply private brand products, manufacture products under OEM contracts, and sell products under our own brand. Our manufacturing process consists of ingredient inspection on delivery, tank storage, ingredient blending, product inspection, container filling, further product inspection, and warehouse storage or shipping. [Industry] Manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] We flexibly address nearly every lubricating oil need through our careful selection of hundreds of ingredients and with over 1,000 formulas. Production consists of blending two to eight types of ingredients (depending on the product) in tanks and then filling containers. Our strengths include our blending expertise in matters such as temperature management during blending as well as our insertion methods. We have our own lab for quality assurance with 30 types of testing equipment. We perform inspections when receiving ingredients, product inspections after blending, first-filling inspections, intermediate inspections, and final inspections. These rigorous inspections ensure that the quality of our products is always consistent. Our primary products are automotive lubricating oils, so another strength of our products is that they are in demand around the world wherever automobiles exist. [Representative's message] Recently the media has focused on the growth of hybrids and the emergence of electric vehicles, and it is true that domestic Japanese demand for automotive lubricating oil has contracted. In this situation we are naturally looking for new business opportunities and seeking to expand our domestic Japanese sales channels. We are also putting our energy into overseas expansion. We sense there is significant demand for made-in-Japan quality in emerging nations. This is because of incidents of tampering with oil mixtures before sale, inclusion of waste oil, and quality inconsistencies in products. The founding principle of our company is to be a company that our stakeholders believe in, need, and adore. This principle is what drives us every day to continue to supply reliable made-in-Japan quality. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We have appointed representatives for developing new business opportunities and handling overseas business. We have also constructed a system that manages business on a project basis. We are actively working to acquire global personnel to expand our connections with overseas companies. [Market share/Ranking] We have a share of approximately 5% of the domestic Japanese market for automotive lubricating oil. (Demand for automotive lubricating oil in 2015 was 584,000 KL, according to a study by JuntsuNet 21.) [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Commendation from the Governor of Saitama Prefecture and Chairman of the Sano City Hazardous Materials Safety Organization for hazardous material safety management; commendation for fire prevention drills from the Chairman of the Yashio City Fire Prevention and Safety Organization; Sano City Brand Enterprise certification from the Mayor of Sano City.
