We are expanding our business for labeling electronic parts and the like both in Japan and overseas.

We manufacture and sell text inspection equipment, ink, software, and PC coders and inkjet printers. These are used in automatic printing of use-by dates, lot numbers, logo marks, barcodes, QR codes, and so on, mainly on articles such as corrugated cardboard, building materials, and parts. We have a track record in the labelling business in Japan and abroad. We have confidence in our technological power. We have developed silver nanoparticle ink, and an inkjet printer for R&D that can print electronic circuits. We are also advancing development of technology to print electronic circuits on PCBs and flexible substrates. Our goal is to expand our business.

[Company strength]
Our advantage is that we develop the inkjet head, text printout equipment, and inkjet ink at the same time. This is how we can achieve high stability in liquid drop discharge during printing, and support customer needs on a custom-order bases. We need to support inquiries from customers in a wide range of technology fields in the printed electronics (PE) market. In order to cultivate the market we have now commercialized a product as small as a 3D printer, and priced it at half the market price or lower. This product was commercialized in January 2015 as a product for initial technology development, while eyeing the potential for future application to high-value-added devices.

[Business description]
Information including use-by dates, lot numbers, logo marks, barcodes, and QR codes are automatically printed on articles like corrugated cardboard, building materials, parts, and foods in a manufacturer’s production line. We mainly manufacture and sell PC coders, inkjet printers, text inspection equipment, consumables such as ink, and software used for such automatic printing. We have developed products in this new business field including silver nanoparticle ink, as well as an inkjet printer for R&D that can print electronic circuits. We are now advancing development of technology to print electronic circuits on PCBs and flexible substrates.

[Strength of products/technologies]
On-demand articles are attracting attention in the field of printed electronics because the wiring of various products can be created under non-contact, mask-less conditions. However, the ink jet method had a problem in that the yield rate and the drawing quality were low. This is why we developed a system that enables uniform drawing even on rough-surfaced substrates without having to conduct substrate preprocessing and the like. This is done by optimizing the ink, inkjet head, and inkjet process. We succeeded in developing equipment that can draw wiring with an L/S of about 30/30 μm for a long period.

We hope to support R&D in fields related to PE so that we can broaden our outlook. We are advancing development of advanced, low-priced products as support for future entry to the market. We plan to enhance our profile and link this with market cultivation by showing our products in exhibitions twice a year and academic conferences held several times a year. We plan to participate in six conferences a year in the field of text printing, including an international trade fair. We are not limiting ourselves to our usual markets, and are expanding our business with an eye on the industries and markets for medical supplies and cosmetics.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We are trying to cultivate new markets and expand existing market sales in order to expand our sales. We aim to expand sales to public institutions, universities, and the like that are involved in R&D in the field of PE engineering. We are promoting sales cultivation in our usual markets for text printing and the R&D equipment field. We are expanding our overseas business for text printing articles by making use of bases in China and India, including agencies. For the time being we have limited our involvement in the PE engineering field to Japan only. We are promoting expansion in fields related to text printing in various industries, such as fruit, food, and tablets, as well as our regular market for printing on corrugated cardboard.

[Market share/Ranking]
Industrial inkjet printers require spraying large ink drops to a distance longer than that in inkjet printers for OA use. Our company has a 60% share of the market for high-quality printers for corrugated cardboard. We are the largest company in this industry.
