Miyuki Co., Ltd.

We are a die manufacturer that helps customers from the design phase by making die-related proposals.

We are a manufacturer of metal dies that are used for plastics. Our strength lies in our design and manufacturing of precision auto part dies for export (dies that cannot be made locally), and metal dies for rubber products. We have developed various dies and technologies in response to customer needs. These include injection molding dies for resin pipes that use gas injection technology, and ways to enable burr removal and full automation for liquid silicone injection molding dies. Our application of gas injection to resin pipe production produced a great response. The automobile manufacturer we made the prototype for and its primary subcontractors are now trying to use this technology in mass production. Such problem-solving capabilities (the ability to make proposals, be creative, and provide appropriate technology) for die design and development engineers are what makes us stand out.

[Company strength]
(1) Unique injection molding die technologies (plastics, rubber, and silicone): We possess a wealth of die design and manufacturing know-how for various materials, including plastics, rubber, and silicone. We are a proposal-based company that can offer original, custom-developed technologies as solutions. These include liquid silicone injection molding dies (burr-free, fully automated operation), and gas injection technology for making plastic products thick and lightweight by making the inside hollow.
(2) One-stop solutions, covering from die design and manufacturing to consignment manufacturing of moldings: We provide customers with the convenience of one-stop solutions. This is done by making use of our integrated manufacturing operation that covers everything up to consignment molding manufacturing. We can provide everything you need if you are looking for ways to procure plastic and rubber insert moldings. Otherwise you would end up with multiple manufacturers, such as a dedicated plastic metal die manufacturer, a rubber die manufacturer, and a molding manufacturer.
(3) The ability to offer exceptional solutions to your problems with injection molding dies: Our company makes various prototype dies as part of our R&D activities in response to customer needs. This enables us to make helpful proposals even in the design phase. Five years ago a molding manufacturer asked us to develop injection molding dies for resin pipes by making use of gas injection technology. This project is still underway. We have received many inquiries from medical device manufacturers and rubber molding manufacturers in this process. We concluded confidentiality agreements and started joint research with some of these companies. Problem-solving capabilities like these (the ability to make proposals, be creative, and provide appropriate technology) for development engineers are what makes us stand out.

[Business description]
We are a small but highly skilled metal die manufacturer with original technologies and know-how for injection molding dies. Our company possesses unique technologies that are rarely found in Japan, such as gas-assisted molding dies for making thick and lightweight resin parts. Our unique technologies also include visibility dies for making the inside of the die visible during injection molding, and liquid silicone injection molding dies enabling burr removal and full automation. We assist in our customers’ product development by solving problems with injection molding dies.

[Strength of products/technologies]
Liquid silicone injection molding dies: Liquid silicone injection moldings are always made with burrs in the case of most dies, which is a complete obstacle if you want to fully automate the molding process. Full automation has been a theme in our R&D activities, and we are very close to establishing a technology for it. We look forward to meeting companies that find it useful to use our liquid silicone injection molding die technology in their business.
Gas injection technology: Gas injection is a technology for forming a hollow part inside a product by filling gas into the resin injected in the die. This technology produced a great response when it was initially developed for resin pipes. The automobile manufacturer that we made the prototype for and its primary subcontractor manufacturer are currently conducting research on how to apply the technology in mass production.

[Representative's message]
Our company is a group of die engineers who give the first priority to giving form to our customers’ ideas. We always pursue new technologies, work hard to create new value, and take on new challenges to solve the problems we are given. Our original, custom-developed technologies have contributed to society through our customers’ products. We will continue to develop original technologies that meet the needs of our customers so that our company will remain indispensable to them, and ultimately to society as well.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Our basic policy is that we do not intend to expand overseas, and focus instead on developing high-value-added technology in Japan so we can keep it here. We decide on additional development themes apart from our daily operations in order to acquire more customers, and everyone works on these themes as a team. Our current theme is to develop fully automated, burr-free operation of liquid silicone injection molding. The first prototype die was made in 2014. In 2015 we demonstrated how to mold with the die in a private show event held at a hot runner manufacturer in Aichi Prefecture. We purchased a liquid silicone injection molding machine for our in-house research. The results are being exhibited in various exhibitions in 2016. We plan to make a second prototype die this year.

[Market share/Ranking]
We take pride in possessing unique technologies that are possible only for a few manufacturers in Japan, including silicone injection molding dies, and gas injection dies. This is a niche market, but we assume that we are competing against a very small number of companies in the domestic Japanese market.
