Nakamura Seisakusho Co., Ltd.
We are a processing industry convenience store, with a policy of machining anything other than air.
Our company is a processing expert group. Our assets include our high-accuracy integrated production system for round products, and our coaxial and concentric machining technology. We manufacture precision parts for machine tools, industrial motors, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment by cutting, grinding, and assembly. We accept orders for thermal treatment, surface treatment, and gear cutting in collaboration with partner companies. We can handle round parts from 50 to 800 mm in diameter. We excel at manufacturing flanged part products with 5 μm precision in coaxiality, concentricity, roundness, perpendicularity, and parallelism. We possess unique know-how about manufacturing trial products from solid materials, processing difficult-to-machine materials such as titanium and Stellite, and also free curve processing.
Other presentation
[Company strength] We have established technologies and gained the trust of many customer companies during our 47-year corporate history since our foundation, which are among our company’s greatest assets. We also have a culture in which all staff members handle transactions with customers in new industries with a constant spirit of taking on challenges. This is based on our corporate policy of machining anything other than air. The average age of our staff is as young as 38, and our young employees flexibly keep up with the changing times. We will continue to grow to be a company capable of satisfying the needs of the times earlier than anyone else. [Business description] Our company manufactures experimental parts for machine tools, industrial motors, industrial machines, and automobiles. We also manufacture parts for construction machines, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and power plant equipment for various industries. This is done by making use of our unique technologies for cutting, grinding, and assembly. We accept orders for thermal treatment, surface treatment, and gear cutting in collaboration with partner companies. We have also started a consumer business with our in-house brand MOLATURA. We will increase its share of our company’s sales by offering our first product samura-in, which is a seal made of titanium. [Industry] Manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] Our company can process round items with medium to large diameters (300 to 800) with high accuracy and quick turnarounds. This is done by NC lathing, machining (vertical and horizontal), five-axis processing (lathing and machining), polishing, slotting, and gun drilling. We can process flanged parts with accuracy of about 5 μ in coaxiality, concentricity, roundness, perpendicularity, and parallelism. The stator sleeves of motors have thin walls but require lead grooving. We can finish them with high accuracy by using a vertical polishing machine. We process difficult-to-machine materials such as Stellite and titanium by making use of our unique know-how. We have an integrated processing system that covers up to part completion (including thermal treatment, surface treatment, gear cutting, and so on). We achieve this by taking advantage of a rich network of partner companies. Our company possesses thermostatic processing and inspection chambers and has an environment for high-precision processing. [Representative's message] Transactions with one major machine tool manufacturer had accounted for over 90% of our business until the Lehman Shock. This manufacturer’s work decreased due to the Lehman Shock, and they shifted to in-house manufacturing and reduced their costs by 20%. Our company suffered a sales decrease to about 10% for over one year, compared with the previous fiscal year. Since then we have been working on sales activities to secure several customer companies such that each one does not account for 20% of our sales. We are working hard to develop our sales channels. Our company proactively participates in exhibitions and trade fairs to disperse our sales to different industries and fields. We will also participate in overseas events if we have the opportunity. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] Our sales department is the liaison for new technical consulting. Our engineers or the president will visit the customer as required for meetings. We are engaged in sales activities with several material trading firms regarding materials and processing. We are now establishing a system for sales activities in areas where these trading firms have their sales offices. Our company also actively participates in exhibitions and trade fairs, and we are doing our best to promote new customer acquisition through the Internet. [Market share/Ranking] It is difficult to express our market share numerically, but we do business with almost all of Japan’s machine tool manufacturers, and our high-precision processing technologies are highly appreciated. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Good Design Award 2015 for our samura-in product under our in-house brand MOLATURA. [Media] Newspapers: Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Chubu Keizai Shimbun, Chunichi Shimbun, Yomiuri Shimbun, and Ise Shimbun. Other: Kateigaho, BUAISO, etc. [Authorization/Certification] ISO 9001, ISO 14001 (inactive). [Joint research and development] Joint research with Daido University: Product design for an in-house brand under a nondisclosure agreement. [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] Direct and indirect deliveries to machine tool manufacturers (Yamazaki MAZAK, Mori Seiki, Okuma, Makino Milling Machine, etc.), industrial motor manufacturers (Mitsubishi Electric, FANUC, Fuji Electric, Sinfonia Technology, etc.), and manufacturers of construction machinery, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, automobiles, and power plant equipment. [Main Clients / Business History (overseas)] Some of our parts are exported indirectly from machine tool manufacturers in Japan to their overseas sites. [Exhibition History/Information] The 20th M-Tech (at Tokyo Big Sight from June 22 to 24, 2016).
