[Company strength]
Our core competencies are integrated manufacturing of cemented carbide from raw material compounding and material sintering to precision die parts processing. We are unique in this respect, as is our policy of high-volume production, deep stocking of standardized products. We produce made-to-order small-sized products in small lots, which is extremely expensive and time-consuming if using general-purpose machines. We also handle products that require complex processing, for which there is an increasing demand. In addition, one of our affiliates in Okayama Prefecture has a Die Section, where individual die sets are designed and manufactured, and it is possible to observe the pressing inspection.



[Business description]
Cemented carbide materials are molded and sintered from compounded rare metals. We process precision die parts made of cemented carbide and steel, and we manufacture spray nozzles, all on a by-order basis. Our main customers are automotive-related companies located in the Tokai region. We use the cemented carbide materials mainly for cutting tools, which we manufacture and sell. Our precision die parts include powder-molded dies, cold-forging dies, drawing dies and complete sets of dies. We also manufacture and sell spray nozzles for cleaning, cooling, combustion, exhaust gas desulfurization, etc. in various industrial fields. As one of the few cemented carbide manufacturers in Japan, we are highly acclaimed for our “high-mix low-volume production on a by-order basis”.

[Strength of products/technologies]
The processing of precision die parts basically depends on the type of machine tool to be used, the type of processing, and the degree of precision; however, the processing of cemented carbide materials differs slightly from ordinary processing. The ultimate demand of the material sales destination is minimal processing allowance, i.e., ‘near net shape’ necessary for grinding the material into the finished factory product. The smaller this processing allowance, the greater the need to improve the sintering technology to meet the required dimensions. The drilling of oil holes for cutting tools, which has become mainstream processing, is performed automatically while the holes are manually processed piece by piece using a general-purpose drill press.

[Representative's message]
About 10% of our sales in the previous quarter was overseas, and about 40% of the overseas sales was from Indonesia, which is a booming emerging country following mainland China. Although Indonesia poses some concerns due to religious conflicts and public safety, in addition to increasing labor costs, the country’s vehicle demand is likely to shift from motorcycles to automobiles. Thus, we will seek to expand sales in Indonesia while paying close attention to its future development.

We have always believed that it is more beneficial to acquire new customers through an introduction by other departments and cooperating companies of our existing customers.  Public relations activities and participation in major exhibitions are also important. We are presently focusing on expanding online sales and leveraging business opportunities.

We manufacture cemented carbide materials and precision die parts on a by-order basis (can produce custom-made products from one piece, which major companies could not achieve). We have the third highest domestic share in the market of spray nozzles under the brand name “EVERLOY Spray Nozzles by Kyoritsu Gokin Co., Ltd.” We offer integrated manufacturing of cemented carbide tools, the second hardest to diamond (based on a customer proposal) from compounding of rare metal to micron-order precision processing (products are unique to the customer concerned, i.e. a niche market).
