Introduction of a new principle for mechanical characteristics testing for the first time in 100 years.
We deal with the testing and device sales of the “micro slurry-jet erosion (MSE) test,” which is a new testing method that can clarify the material properties and characteristics of a surface thin layer. The MSE is an epoch-making method that has enabled digitization at nanometer resolution of the strength distribution, in the depth direction, of “too-hard materials”, “too-soft materials” and “material layers changing in strength”, which is difficult to be measure. This is the result of longtime joint development with the University of Fukui, and is the only technique of its kind in the world. A material is shaved little and little with the use of minute particles, and the speed of being shaved is measured to calculate the strength.
[Company strength] We have a history of 35 years in particle processing and 40 years in automation devices. We have accumulated, as intellectual assets, extensive knowledge and a network developed from 15 years of industry-academia collaboration. The “MSE testing method” is a result of longtime collaborative research with the University of Fukui, and is the only technique of its kind in the world. An enormous volume of information and test data has been collected for this technology by numerous other industry-academia collaborations and tests. The MSE test will become a source of differentiation and advancement through its utilization. Nagaoka, a city of monozukuri (manufacturing), is located in a suitable area for device production, and has advanced processing techniques on the periphery. Great advantages in development/research can therefore be anticipated. (3) Digitization of layers changing in strength (multilayer, gradient, or deteriorated films) We aim at standardization such as ISO and a de facto standard as a future mechanical characteristics testing method. [Representative's message] New monozukuri requires a new evaluation method. Strength testing for a solid surface is classified into the category of mechanical characteristics tests, but since its basic principle has not changed in 100 years, it cannot be applied to the newest monozukuri evaluation. The MSE testing method has realized high-resolution reproducibility through the utilization of the particle projection technique, and has become a testing method that can be called a strength-based analysis. Our goal is to contribute to monozukuri through marketing and promotion both domestically and overseas. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We effectively utilize IT, make presentations at academic conferences, and contribute articles to specialist magazines in order to make our techniques widely known and to expand our sales channels. We also reach out to new customers by actively participating in trade exhibitions.
