[Company strength]
Our corporate philosophy is that we shall totally focus on technology development and develop world-class products. We have prepared 2D and 3D CAD, analysis software, and various kinds of test equipment in our laboratory. We always respond to customer requests with our original ideas, and we are always conscious of conducting proposal-type sales to pursue customer satisfaction, rather than just selling products. We pursue QCD as a matter of course, and we also emphasize “S” after delivery by providing after-sale service at all of our bases.



[Business description]
We develop, design, manufacture, and sell advanced rotary joints (swivel joints and revolving couplers) and special oil-hydraulic cylinders for heavy industry and the automobile industry. Our products can be used even in adverse environments. We have factories in Yokohama (headquarters) and Hamamatsu in Japan, and we have overseas factories in Thailand and China. We conduct Monozukuri craftsmanship production at all of these manufacturing bases. We deliver our cylinders to Western countries, China, ASEAN, and India as well as Japan. We have a technical tie-up with Five-Star Hydraulics in North America. Our company’s four factories together with Five-Star Hydraulics provide after-sale maintenance services in various countries.

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our rotary joints (swivel joints and revolving couplers) and special oil-hydraulic cylinders are mostly used under adverse environmental conditions such as vibration, high speed, high pressure, high temperature, and vacuums. We have solved problems for our customers by applying the technology power we have been cultivating for many years since we delivered our first products in 1965. Most of our products have been designed and manufactured with a short delivery time. This ability to provide support is a strength of our products and technology.

Our main products are rotary joints and oil-hydraulic cylinders. We have developed many products according to customer needs, and our quality has been highly evaluated all over the world. We were selected for the Global Niche Top Companies 100 Selection by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in March 2014. We have built up a track record with rotary joints under severe use conditions, and accumulated a wealth of know-how according to all kinds of fluids and rotation speeds. We think it is our current mission to convey the niche technology we have been cultivating for many years to a greater number of customers who have issues to solve.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We are developing our overseas business by setting up local affiliates (production factories) in Thailand and China. We have a technology tie-up with Five-Star Hydraulics, which is a company located in Indiana, USA. They can conduct maintenance of our products. We do business all over the world. We can support various languages, such as English, Chinese, Thai, and Hindi.




[Market share/Ranking]
In the steel industry we have a 100% share (market monopoly) of hot rolling milling in Japan, and over 90% of the market for cold rolling milling. Our products are selected without fail when a Japanese equipment manufacturer receives an order for overseas steel equipment. Our global share is about 33%.

Shibaura Institute of Technology: Joint research on continuous control of the position and pressure of a pulse-type sensor cylinder and the construction of a control program using LabVIEW.
