Sanki Consys Co., Ltd.
Wearable heater characterized by thermal uniformity utilizing conductive fibers
We have developed a wearable (fabric stretchable) heater. Our heater is characterized by thermal uniformity utilizing conductive fibers, and has a low risk of low-temperature burns even when worn close to the skin. Our heater can be used for wellness, apparel and medical-related applications. Our wearable stretching wire enables power supply and control communication, thus overcoming the limitations of size and weight of wearable equipment. As our wearable stretching wire can be sewn thanks to its stretchability, we can use it to create new wearable equipment.
Other presentation
[Company strength] We develop heaters, controllers and the like in-house. In addition, we jointly develop raw materials and products with cooperating companies, and work mainly with companies in our ward, the metropolitan area and the Kanto region for processing technologies and production facilities, since such aspects can be handled by the local knit industry. For such reasons, we select and process materials from a single string and wires from a single copper wire, and thus can manufacture special heaters and secondary materials designed to be wearable. Furthermore, we are developing sensor applications by using our own electronic device technology. [Business description] We have developed the world’s first wearable (fabric and stretchable) heater. Our heater is characterized by thermal uniformity utilizing conductive fibers, and has a low risk of low-temperature burns even when worn close to the skin. Our heater can be used for wellness, apparel and medical-related applications. In addition, we are researching conductive fabrics as a material, and developing sensor applications in cooperation with universities, Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute, and others. [Industry] Production and sales of fabric heaters [Strength of products/technologies] Our wearable (fabric stretchable) heater is a new type of heater that provides a suitable temperature and soft texture. Our heater has a soft texture, and offers stretchability, breathability and antibacterial properties. Our wearable stretching wire (joint research with Shinshu University, Faculty of Textile Science) has high stretchability and can be used without restricting body movement. [Representative's message] We participate in domestic and overseas exhibitions approximately four times a year, to expand our sales channels and cooperation with other industries. We also conduct joint development and innovation with universities and Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Technology Research Institute. We currently have production bases in Japan, Korea and China, but intend to expand our unique heater globally by publicizing the difference between our heater and conventional heaters. Accordingly, we are considering expanding our sales channels, leveraging our production bases, and boosting sales in warm countries in other fields of use (wellness using wearable sensors) than heaters. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] In order to develop new products utilizing the feature of fabric heaters, we established a system for conducting in-depth technical studies while protecting mutually confidential information by signing nondisclosure agreements. In addition, we are expanding overseas using our existing bases, and building a system for handling inquiries in other languages. [Market share/Ranking] Our fabric stretchable heater is the world’s first such product. We are aiming for a market share of 5-10% of linear heaters which are used in apparel and other fields. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] New Value Creation Exhibition in Kansai Best-H! NT Award, Tokyo Business Design Award – Theme Award (2013), and Edogawa-ward Superior Enterprise (2008) [Media] “World Business Satellite” (TV Tokyo), “Great Gear” (NHK World), Mono Magazine, and MBC in Korea [Joint research and development] Abnormality detection method for vibrating body and device therefor (with Tokyo Metropolitan University) Evaluation and safety of fabric heater (with Shinshu University) [Main Clients / Business History (domestic)] We deliver our heaters as prototypes and production equipment, but cannot publish details of transactions because of confidentiality agreements.
