YOSHIWA KOGYO Co., Ltd.

We support the automobile industry in our casting of important safety-related parts.

We are a cast parts manufacturer established in 1937. Our company manufactures important safety-related parts for the automobile industry, including disc plates, brake calipers, flywheels, and oil pump cases. We have many customers in Japan, including Mazda Motor, AS Brake Systems, and Aisin Takaoka. Our overseas transactions are mostly with overseas subsidiaries of Japanese companies. We have grown our business while covering all gray cast iron and ductile cast iron manufacturing processes, from casting to machining. We have already secured the necessary human resources for doing business in English and Chinese. We plan to develop new sales channels in other countries by making use of overseas procurement routes, while maintaining our domestic Japanese sites.

[Company strength]
Our strength comes from our three plants, each of which manufactures specific types of cast products under an integrated production system that manages from casting to machining. Our Muikaichi plant is dedicated to gray cast iron (plain cast iron), and has realized the fastest, shortest casting processing (measured from melting to finishing processing). The Hatsumi plant deals with ductile cast iron (spheroidal graphite cast iron), which is a hard, difficult-to-handle material, and manufactures mainly important safety-related parts. Our Kaita plant conducts machining using automated lines to supply parts to customers in a timely manner.

[Business description]
Our company mainly manufactures cast parts for automobiles. We conduct all gray cast iron and ductile cast iron manufacturing processes in-house, from casting to machining. Our main products are disc plates, brake parts (such as brake calipers), engine parts (such as flywheels), automatic parts (such as oil pump cases), and various cast parts.

[Strength of products/technologies]
We have installed electric furnaces in addition to traditional cupola furnaces to meet needs for higher quality and greater production capacity. We have accumulated the technological know-how that is necessary for satisfying customer needs even in difficult casting projects (such as high-mix production, composite material, and technical difficulty). We have technologies and human resources that are useful for incorporating casting know-how into the early phase of development as a part of our design-in activities.

[Representative's message]
Our company excels at cast parts for automobiles, and especially important safety-related parts such as suspensions. We hope to acquire customers in other fields, such as different manufacturers or different mechanical fields. This will be done by making use of our technology development capabilities that have achieved successful results both in quality and cost. We are still carefully considering overseas expansion in the immediate future, but we will actively promote made-in-Japan, high-quality castings in overseas markets.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We will need to reinforce and increase our sales force to develop new sales channels. We already have English- and Chinese-speaking personnel for developing sales channels abroad. We will maintain our current domestic Japanese production sites, while adopting overseas procurement in our sales channel development strategy. We believe that we need to maintain our capabilities for domestic Japanese development and production. This will be necessary to maintain and increase our competitive advantage against domestic Japanese and overseas competition both in terms of quality and cost.

[Market share/Ranking]
Our disc plates are used in all Mazda cars manufactured in Japan (100% in all models).
