We are a long-established resin product manufacturer that contributes to various industrial fields.
We are a resin and resin product manufacturer established in 1924, and we are extending our business in Japan and abroad. We have done business with many major companies in Japan, including Kurosaki Harima, Toyota Industries, Honda Motor, Futamura Chemical, and Air Water. Our mainline businesses are resin manufacturing, resin molding, and R&D. Our resin manufacturing business involves manufacturing and selling mainly phenol resin and furan resin. In our resin molding business we mainly manufacture machine parts for chemicals, iron-making, ships, stranded wire, fibers, and printing. In our R&D business we mainly handle carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) and asbestos substitute materials. Our company has acquired many patents.
[Company strength] Our company synthesized phenol resin, which is the oldest of plastics, earlier than any other parties (1924) and adopted it as a binder for moldings capable of withstanding severe conditions. We have been providing integrated manufacturing and sales of thermosetting resins ever since. Many of our products are unrivaled unique, niche products which we completed by long-term testing. Phenol resin and furan resin are promising materials with the potential for use as carbide for advanced materials. We have been an R&D company since our foundation despite generational changes in management. More than 20% of our staff are engaged in research. They are working day and night for fast research on many themes under non-disclosure agreements. [Business description] (1) Resin manufacturing business: We manufacture and sell phenol resin, furan resin, and other resins. We provide die materials for casting, firebrick resin, and special resins (for photoresist, graphite, and adhesiveness). We also handle new composite materials (spherical phenol resin, graphite-phenol resin composite materials, and carbon fiber-phenol resin composite materials). (2) Resin molding business: We supply machine parts (gears, rollers, and so on) for chemicals, iron-making, ships, stranded wire, fibers, printing, and other industrial fields. (3) R&D business: We conduct consignment R&D for many different customers regarding CFRP, asbestos substitute materials, and other new materials as well as resin molding and processing technologies. [Industry] Plastics and plastic product manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] (1) Spherical resin: Thermal conversion changes the resin into uniform micro-pore carbide with high carbonization yield and purity. It is also highly possible to prepare target particles because of the high particle design flexibility. (2) Carbon composite materials: We developed a sheathing technology that minimizes the amount of binder to bring out the best from the basic characteristics of carbon materials. Composite materials can be applied via molding for use as battery active materials and fuel cell separators. (3) Environmental improvement of the casting industry: Our super-heated steam blow molding (HSB) process makes use of superheated steam for die-cast molding. Our steam blow molding (SBM) process makes use of superheated steam for binder coated refractory (BCR) (saccharide-coated refractory) processing. [Representative's message] Our company has been extending sales channels and joint research in recent years by annually participating in one or two exhibitions in the Kansai region. We have been developing overseas business through a trading firm. We will further consolidate this foundation by also considering overseas expansion while maintaining our site in Japan. We will participate in technical exhibitions throughout Japan for batteries and other fields to extend our development and sales network. We will also actively work to have major companies adopt our technologies and products at their factories in Japan (as well as overseas). We will contribute to overseas industries seeking advanced products and environmental protection technologies. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We have engineers in the development department and staff for new transactions in the sales department to respond to inquiries from companies. We have 12 development staff members specialized in respective fields to handle technical consulting. Our development staff directly visit customers with the sales staff as required for consulting about issues and requests. We will provide desired samples after review and trial manufacturing if they are not available. We conclude non-disclosure agreements for new projects and complete development in a short period. We have staff members with extensive experience in overseas patents who deal with overseas companies in English. [Market share/Ranking] Our company manufactures casting products, and particularly automotive parts. As of 2013 the casting-related resin market had a scale of about 16,000 tons and our market share was 7 to 8%. Our low environmental load product LT accounts for 35% of our market share (2.5 of 3.0% of the total market). We are now taking a step ahead of the industry in low environmental load products, and we have technical power that is competitive among major companies. Our company ranks low in the industry because of low price competitiveness in the mass-production field for general-purpose products. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Osaka Industrial Research Association, Industrial Technology Award (2008); Kansai Chapter of the Japan Foundry Engineering Society, Research Encouragement Award (2014, 2015); Science & Technology Promotion Society of Kansai University, Technical Development Award (2010, 2015).
