Urano Co., Ltd.
We have a proven track record for aircraft & Engine parts in terms of machining hand-full size to large-sized complex shaped articles.
Metal product manufacturer founded in 1963. We manufacture and sell processed products of difficult-to-machine materials such as Inconel® and titanium alloy as well as resin and aluminum. Machining of small to large-sized complex shaped articles is our strong point. We mainly manufacture and sell aircraft engine parts, large-sized structural parts and semiconductor production equipments as well as turbine blades, etc., mounted in nuclear reactors, generators, and motors. Titanium material parts for the Boeing 787 account for 6.6% of orders, which is the highest in Japan. Urano is focusing more on engine parts as Urano has more experiences machining engine parts such as diffuser cases, stator vanes, shrouds, bearing housing and outlet guide vane etc.

Our company is good at machining irregular-shaped hard metals such as titanium and Inconel. We have 130 units of machining centers, and we are proud to be one of the leading companies in Japan when it comes to difficult-to-cut material machining technology. The amount of aircraft engine parts to be processed increases every year. In recent years, we have been working to improve productivity by setting up processing, stamping, and inspection processes using robots. Also, we cooperate with partner companies in special operations such as nondestructive inspection, surface treatment, and heat treatment, and deliver the products through the integrated production system.

For over half a century, we have specialized in materials, became involved in diverse industries, and actively handled high-mix low-volume products including challenging prototypes. Processing technology according to the properties of materials ranging from resin and aluminum to difficult-to-machine materials such as Inconel® and about 130 machining centers make it possible for us to provide products "quickly, at low cost, with high quality" to our clients with the machining centers kept running 24/7/365. [Business description] We have factories in Nagasaki, Gunma and Saitama prefectures with a total of 130 machining centers (including five-axis) that operate 24/7/365, so we are able to meet any delivery deadline. We excel in the processing of complex shaped articles, which are our leading products, aerospace equipment, nuclear related machines, and LCD and semiconductor related machines. We specialize in processing aluminum material as well as difficult-to-machine materials (Inconel®, titanium) for fuselages and engines in aircraft related manufacturing. Our aim is to realize zero human errors in terms of quality; therefore, all our employees make concerted and united efforts to reform their way of thinking. It is our belief that we can survive the current harsh times by manufacturing quality products at a low cost in a short time, and our ongoing management is based on this belief. [Industry] Manufacturing (metal product manufacturing) [Strength of products/technologies] We excel in the cutting machining of large-sized complex shaped articles of not only aluminum materials but also difficult-to-machine materials (Inconel® and titanium alloy). We have a broad range of expertise and a proven track record. We can therefore assure our clients of high-quality products including important parts made of titanium materials, aluminum materials, etc., for aircraft, engine parts made of Inconel® materials, large-sized structural parts made of aluminum materials for semiconductor manufacturing machines, and turbine blades of various shapes used in nuclear power plants, generators, and motors, etc. We enjoy the highest share of orders of titanium-based parts for the Boeing 787 in Japan. [Representative's message] Presently, we directly accept orders from Japan's major heavy industries companies while overseas aircraft manufacturers, which are the end users of parts we are currently working on, have increasingly come to visit us. We therefore look to overseas business expansion with a view to direct transactions in the future. We will enhance our management, business, technology, and quality in preparation for overseas expansion. We also intend to improve our communication skills with foreign nationals, which is essential for transactions, collecting information, and building overseas connections with a broader perspective. We believe that these efforts will lead to a stronger company base and improved company value, which will also have a favorable effect on domestic sales expansion. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We have actively conducted overseas company visits and market research for the last two years, and now have personnel who are fluent in foreign languages. The next three years are a preparation period for overseas expansion and sales development. We provide training for trading business, English contracts, and the enhancement of presentation skills, in addition to in-house language training for improving business English conversation skills. We plan to enhance the development of human resources so that we can positively develop business with an eye on overseas markets. We intend to make company visits and factory tours, and participate in exhibitions and business presentations both domestically and abroad. We are eager to improve the necessary skills and response capabilities. We plan to revamp our English company brochure and also redesign our website for overseas expansion.
