Optron Co., Ltd.

We have a track record of delivering our original optical sensors and measuring instruments in Japan and overseas.

We are a precision equipment manufacturer that is developing business in Japan and overseas. We develop and manufacture optical sensors and measuring instruments as well as resonant scanners. We have many customers in Japan such as SMC, Bando Chemical Industries, NTT, Shin Nippon Air Technologies, and Panasonic Welding Systems, including the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). We have a track record of overseas deliveries to China and the Middle East. Our original resonant scanner-type Curtain Sensor has a longer operating life compared with conventional motor-type products, so maintenance is not required. Our products are used to confirm the safety of railroad platform barriers.

[Company strength]
We were the first in the world to develop a product Curtain Sensor resonant scanner. Curtain Sensor scans in a fan shape, and distance is measured for each angle. Our new sensor has a longer operating life and higher reliability than what could be achieved by conventional motor-type devices. Our products are highly evaluated by customers as maintenance-free sensors. Our Curtain Sensor product is now utilized to confirm the safety of railroad platform barriers.

[Business description]
We develop and manufacture optical sensors and measuring instruments as well as resonant scanners. Our Curtain Sensor product is utilized in various situations in everyday life in order to secure the safety of people and improve convenience.

[Industry]
Sensor and measuring instrument manufacturing and sales

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our sensors are equipped with resonant scanners. A laser beam is scanned by making use of the resonance phenomenon to vibrate the scanning mirror. Our products have a number of characteristics that distinguish them from conventional motor-type sensors.
(1) Semi-permanent lifetime: The torsion of a torsion bar with fixed ends is utilized, so there are no sliding or wearing parts. The product lifetime is expected to be about the same as electronic components.
(2) High-quality scanning: A single mirror is used, so there is no plane tilt error as seen in polygon mirrors. Our products can be used for applications in which plane tilt error cannot be corrected.
(3) Low power consumption: Mechanical resonance is used, so power consumption is about a thousandth to a hundredth that of a motor. Our products are optimal for battery-operated hand-held devices.

[Representative's message]
Our sales system is based on customization for particular applications, so the initial development cost tends to be high. This is why compromises in price tend to be difficult unless a certain volume of sales is expected. We understand that J-GoodTech is prepared for major companies, and we can find solutions for customers with a certain order volume with our advanced technology power. Please feel free to contact us.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Our company does not focus on ready-made articles, unlike major sensor manufacturers. We have advantages in developing products customized for specific applications. This is why we are thinking of promoting sales directly to the customer’s development staff and engineering staff of the customer in our plan for market cultivation. This is how we can ascertain current issues and problems, examine the possibility of finding a solution with our technology, and make an appropriate proposal.

[Market share/Ranking]
This is our company’s original technology, so we think we monopolize the market for its use.
