Hatsuno Construction Material Industry Co., Ltd.
Our company applies unique reducing agents to promote environmentally friendly ground improvement work.
We provide building material wholesaling and civil engineering work. Our civil engineering work includes our industry-university development of a reducing agent that makes hexavalent chromium harmless. We are aiming to increase our business volume by proposing safe work with low risks of soil contamination. Conventional ground improvement work (surface improvement or columnar improvement work) using cement-based solidifying materials may cause soil contamination. We are proceeding with a plan to improve awareness of our company among end users who will build a house. We are now focused on establishing a system with overseas business expansion in mind.

[Company strength] Our company is developing a reducing agent in industry-university collaboration with the Tokyo University of Technology. We are continuing R&D to achieve higher specifications with the assistance of Professor Tomoyasu Sugiyama. Our team includes various consultants and former employees of major companies as external experts. We meet them periodically and exchange opinions about sales promotion activities. Our company has been selected by governmental agencies for support projects (FY2014 Monozukuri Subsidy; FY2014 and FY2015 Saitama Prefecture Business Innovation Model Company). Our business is attracting attention as an enterprise with potential. [Business description] Our company has established a new division for environmental measures. Conventional ground improvement work (surface improvement or columnar improvement work) using cement-based solidifying materials involves issues of soil contamination. We propose safe work to solve these issues by using a reducing agent that we developed to make hexavalent chromium harmless. Our main targets are end users who will build a house. We introduce them to our company by exhibiting our products at housing centers and distributing flyers. Our sub-targets are first-class architects and house building companies. We are conducting sales activities via awareness campaigns by holding seminars and making individual visits. [Industry] Building material wholesaling and civil engineering work [Representative's message] We were able to celebrate our 58th anniversary mainly by wholesaling building materials, but Japan’s population decrease will continue and the construction related industry itself will diminish. The issue of hexavalent chromium contained in cement is hardly known among the general public. We think we can produce a new market in Japan as well as abroad and anticipate new sales channels if this can be properly made public. Our purifying agent can contribute to creating an environmentally friendly sustainable society. We will develop our purifying agent into the core of new businesses to be a company that celebrates it centennial. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We became a supporting member of the Saitama Society of Architects and Building Engineers for business expansion in Japan. We participate in seminars and study meetings at each chapter to publicize our company. We plan to join the Tokyo Society of Architects and Building Engineers and the Kanagawa Society of Architects and Building Engineers. We are making preparations for future overseas business expansion by receiving individual consulting at JICA and JETRO. We are also receiving individual consulting support from an intellectual property advisor with the support of the Saitama Industrial Promotion Public Corporation for intellectual property protection outside Japan. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] Saitama Prefecture Shibusawa Eiichi Business Awards, Special Prize (2013); Kawasaki City Kawasaki Entrepreneur Auditions, Excellence Prize (2014); prize in the Eco Japan Cup, Business Division, Environmental Business Venture Open, held by the Ministry of the Environment (2012). [Media] Nikkei Top Leader (2014 September); Weekly Toyo Keizai, "WORK AGAIN," extra issue and Web version (February 2015).
