Toyoko Co., Ltd.

Our core business is a restoration method that adds waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement functions to roofs.

We are a provider of waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement works for roofs. Our business is based on our core Spray Cover restoration technology. This technology adds waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement effects to old slate roofs and steel roofs at factories by spraying three layers of special resins. Our customers include major Japanese companies such as Mitsubishi Electrics, Mitsubishi Plastics Industries, and Hitachi Appliances. Our treatment was applied to the Japanese Embassy in Mongolia. Roof repair works are mostly conducted through the steel plate covering method, but this carries risks including insulation and rain leakage. We plan to expand our business with our restoration method, which helps solve these problems.

Other presentation

[Company strength]
It has been nine years since we launched our restoration method. We are already receiving many repeat orders from major companies from among the early pool of customers for the 420,000 square meters we had covered as of 2015. Our company is relatively young compared with many other long-established coating service providers, but both customer needs and work methods change as time goes by. We can accurately capture needs, and proactively make suggestions by incorporating fresh thinking and ideas gained on-site.

[Business description]
Our company provides waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement work using the Spray Cover method. This restoration method involves spraying old slate roofs and steel roofs at factories with three layers of special resin to add waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement effects.

Coating and optics business

[Strength of products/technologies]
Roof repair works are mostly conducted through the steel plate covering method, but its heavy load and associated dust can be problematic for some buildings. It also carries a risk of insulation and rain leakage, which may lead to higher costs and interruption to operations. Our restoration method solves these problems, and enhances safety during work such as preventing accidents due to breaking slate roofs, while containing asbestos to protect the environment. Our restoration method repairs and reinforces existing roofs and extends their service lives, while adding waterproofing (with a maximum 10-year guarantee) and insulation (energy conservation measure) effects.

[Representative's message]
Our company’s Sosei restoration method is a technology in which the surface of an old roof or rooftop is sprayed with three layers of resin. This adds waterproofing, insulation, and reinforcement effects and extends its service life. This roofing technology can extend the life of a roof by over 20 years. I hope to propose it to offices and industrial buildings throughout Japan that were built during Japan’s high-growth period, and enhance recognition of our Sosei method. We also use this unique technology to provide high-quality products and services and contribute to the development of customer companies, which will help change the old culture in this industry.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
Most companies in the construction and painting industries receive orders from general contractors for conventional methods, and virtually no companies develop a new method on their own. We firmly believe that such a situation in the industry means that there is much room for technological innovation that draws out hidden needs in the market. This is why we continue to plan and develop original methods for commercialization.

[Market share/Ranking]
Market scale: 765,692,000 square meters of steel sheet roofs, and 203,538,000 square meters of slate roofs (both are estimates). We had covered 420,000 square meters as of March 2015.
