Kyokutou Machinery Co., Ltd.
We are increasing our business volume with the two core activities of auxiliary tools and forging molds.
We are expanding our business with the two core activities of auxiliary tools for aluminum extrusion and forging molds for automotive parts. We make use of our unique fusing method in the shape processing process in auxiliary tool manufacturing. We provide products to customers at much lower processing costs than ever before. We used to employ machining for this purpose. Our company has a production system for forging mold manufacturing in which we efficiently operate equipment including seven NC lathing machines and three vertical machining centers. We are increasing our business capacity by satisfying customer requests for small-lot production and short turnarounds. We have done business with Sankyo Tateyama, Fuji Light Metal, JATCO, and Aisin Metaltech.
[Company strength] We created an intellectual asset management report in 2011 to review our company with our staff and integrate our advantages into four areas. (1) Great manufacturing capacity based on unattended machining for a long period of time. (2) The power to update (with notification) simplified multi-skilled worker data to average the day's work volume. (3) A worker cooperation system capable of making short-term deliveries to customers. (4) A balanced management system as a small enterprise that will continue to survive. We are working hard to enhance the functionality of our equipment, build up a unique management system, and educate staff who are capable of keeping up with changes. This is being done with the above advantages (intellectual assets) as the source of our competitive power. [Business description] Our main businesses include (1) manufacturing auxiliary tools for aluminum extrusion (50%). We provided Sankyo Tateyama, Inc. with 350 molds per month and Fuji Light Metal Co., Ltd. with 15 molds per month, including auxiliary tools (BK, FG, BO, and DH). We also (2) manufacture automotive part forging molds (50%). We provided JATCO Ltd. with 400 forging molds per month (through a trading firm) and Aisin Metaltech Co., Ltd. with 250 forging molds per month (directly). Figures are for 2014. [Industry] Aluminum extrusion and automotive part forging mold manufacturing [Strength of products/technologies] (1) We make use of fusing (our unique processing method) in the shape processing process instead of conventional machining in our aluminum extrusion auxiliary tool manufacturing. Our unique method greatly reduces the processing cost (potentially about 80% of BK and BO). (2) Our company has established a production system for automotive part forging mold manufacturing. We efficiently operate equipment including seven NC lathing machines and three vertical machining centers (as of 2015) with a small number of staff under our unique production information management system. This gives us an advantage in small-lot production and short turnarounds. [Representative's message] We now have customers in the housing industry who are confronting the decreasing birthrate and aging population, and in the automobile industry who are confronting globalization. Our company has been building up a reliable in-house system for high-mix low-volume production of ordered products at short turnarounds. We will certainly be able to satisfy customers with our production system. It is based on a management system that efficiently brings together multi-skilled operators and existing in-house equipment. We are seeking out the potential for growth in our current fields of manufacturing auxiliary tools for aluminum extrusion and automotive part forging molds. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We acquired ISO 9001 certification in 2004, and created an intellectual asset management report and implemented CNC 3D measuring machines in 2011. We introduced a composite machining center (five-axis) in 2012 because we received business innovation plan approval, and a CNC lathe with milling functions in 2013 by using a manufacturing subsidy. We made use of a manufacturing subsidy in 2014 to implement a new production information management system and a vertical machining center. We started a small-group activity (QC circle) in 2010, and we have been working to establish an in-house system capable of efficiently utilizing advanced equipment. This is done via multi-skilled workers, multiple units, and IT. [Market share/Ranking] Our auxiliary tools account for about 80% of those now in use by our customers. Our market share for automotive part forging molds is unknown because we have no data about the total quantity, but the quantity ordered is increasing every year.
