Ohno Seiki Co., Ltd.

Dedicated to the machining of round items for 60 years; played a role in the Shitamachi Bobsleigh Project

We are a precision metal working company devoted to the machining of round items. We conduct grooving, free-form rounding, and tapering on round items of 12 to 300 mm in diameter by using wire electric discharge machining of 0.25 mm wide. We grind the items manually or by using an NC lathe equipped with wire-formed cutting tools. Martensitic stainless steel is machined and thermally treated, then free forms are hollowed out by wire cutting. We devised and implemented a high-precision jig for centering and chucking for lathing. We also have an advantage in developing and manufacturing coating removing tools.

Kame-Chuck — soft hexagonal jaw for power-chucking on NC lathes
Our company offers soft jaws used in lathe machining, NC lathe machining, machining, milling, and so on. This cost-effective jaw streamlines the setup as it can have as many as six corners for molding, depending on the work to be chucked.
•It expedites the operation as you can change the soft jaws with a single bolt.
•We can make the jaws with aluminum, iron, or various other materials to meet the customer's needs.
•The jaws can be made in varying sizes, from large to small diameters.
•The grip can be made wide to minimize distortion.
•The hexagonal irregularities allow for excellent workability since you can position and hold the works easily and accurately using a single bolt.
•We can make soft jaws with various materials such as aluminum, brass, and stainless steel.

Other presentation

[Company strength]
We independently devise tools and jigs by utilizing the know-how we have accumulated since our foundation, and use them to machine round items. Technical workers responsible for field machining also conduct sales activities, such as holding meetings on uses and specifications, and can provide technical consulting on metal working. They create drawings suitable for field use, measure the dimensions of actual items, and evaluate the feasibility of processing. We create optimum products meeting specifications through collaborative welding, thermal treatment, and other kinds of metal working with neighboring factories. We also accept orders for customized products of small lot sizes.

[Business description]
Our business is precision metal working mainly of round items. We handle such materials as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, and copper. We are engaged in product development and manufacturing based on our machining technologies. We manufacture 18-liter can sealing and seaming machines for business use and also develop and manufacture coating removing tools.

[Industry]
Precision metal working of mainly round items

[Strength of products/technologies]
We conduct grooving, free-form rounding, and tapering on round items of 12 to 300 mm in diameter by using wire electric discharge machining of 0.25 mm wide. We grind the items manually or by using an NC lathe equipped with wire-formed cutting tools (special bits and drills). Martensitic stainless steel is machined and thermally treated, then free forms are hollowed out by wire cutting. We developed and internally introduced a high-precision jig for centering and chucking for lathing. The dynamic centering of spring and metal is our unique technology created through the development of the coating removing tool.

[Representative's message]
By listening to customers’ opinions, we have improving our machining and wire cutting facilities for the future. We must convey our inherited manufacturing technologies and ideas to the next generation while carefully manufacturing products every day. All of our staff will keep working together to manufacture products that satisfy customers by considering, applying, and devising manufacturing to remain one step ahead. We appreciate the support of our customers.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We created a website introducing our company and samples of processing and other data, and another website for directly selling lathe inner holders. We have a liaison for new customers and continue to grow. We also exhibit our products at an industrial exhibition here in Ota City (Tokyo) every year. Since our processing workers are also in charge of sales, we can provide technical consulting directly.

[Market share/Ranking]
Our market share is unknown because we are handling niche products. Since there are no competing products, our company may be ranked top in our niche field.
