Yamako Electric Manufacture Co., Ltd.
Our company has a proven track record dating back 80 years in designing and manufacturing various communications equipment.
Our company was established in 1933, and we have a history of over 80 years in operation. Our business covers design, manufacturing, and installation of construction materials for communications facilities. These facilities are operated by major telecommunications carriers such as NTT and KDDI, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Ministry of Defense. We also handle materials for local municipalities’ emergency radio systems, and utility companies’ microsystems. Our past projects include power unit assembly for electronic switching systems, communications equipment repairs, and designing, manufacturing, and installing construction materials for telecommunications facilities in communications base stations. We have a track record in handling earthquake countermeasure products, so we plan to focus on products to reduce damage due to natural disasters.
[Company strength] Our company has been designing, manufacturing, and installing construction materials for telecommunications facilities since its establishment in May 1933. These facilities are operated by major telecommunications carriers such as NTT and KDDI, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and the Ministry of Defense. We also handle materials for local municipalities’ emergency radio systems, and utility companies’ microsystems. We have a sound financial base with a capital-to-asset ratio of over 60%. This is due to prudent business management since our establishment, and has earned a great deal of trust from financial institutions. The investment we received two years ago from the Small and Medium Business Investment and Consultation Co., Ltd. is a prime example of this. Our company is conveniently located in Higashikojiya, Ota City, where many of our partner manufacturers operate to cover all the necessary manufacturing processes. [Business description] Our company has been engaged in designing and manufacturing various kinds of communications equipment for 83 years since our establishment. We have contributed to a wide range of customers in the fast-developing information industry. Our past projects include power unit assembly for electronic switching systems for Oki Electric Industry. We have repaired communications equipment and designed, manufactured, and installed construction materials for NTT’s exchange and transmission stations. We have also provided these services for communications base stations run by NTT Docomo, KDDI, and au through construction companies throughout Japan. We have just started to develop new products that withstand earthquakes and reduce seismic damage so as to expand and enhance our knowledge and technology. [Industry] Construction materials, and materials for communications equipment [Strength of products/technologies] Our company excels at machine design with 3D CAD, fabrication technology with a 3D printer, and design, development and prototype making of products including earthquake acceleration analyzers and electronic circuits. We also conduct tests on stainless steel goods (corrosion analysis) and spot welded joints, as we can handle everything from on-site investigation to design, development, and construction according customer requests. In 2007 we started to develop earthquake-resistant products such as our Wagon Catcher fixing base, and added an anti-falling sensor-embedded device for shelves to our lineup in 2012. We currently have other emergency goods under development and production, such as our Boom Keeper, which prevents UNIC vehicles from driving with a raised boom. [Representative's message] We hope to actively promote new emergency products to acquire more customers. We have an 83-year track record in the telecommunications industry, but we are hardly known in other industries. We are also unfamiliar with business practices and effective approaches in this new field. We hope that support from SMRJ (Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan) will open up opportunities for us. A new customer that we started to work with recently told us that we were a great help for them because we carried out all the processing. This included on-site investigation, design, drawing preparation for approval, and production, as well as installation in some cases. They would have had to make everything from scratch if they had not been able to find the right metal fittings among commercially available products. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] We participate in an earthquake countermeasure technology exhibition at Pacifico Yokohama every year, and try to take part in whatever exhibitions we can to gain recognition. We also apply for feasibility studies (research on opportunities for sales channel development) led by SMRJ (Organization for Small and Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan) every year. This is done in order to look into sales opportunities in industries other than communications, as well as overseas markets. We have assigned proficient English speakers to our planning team in order to prepare our internal framework for future overseas expansion. We hope to participate in overseas business conferences held by Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ bank, and capture needs in overseas markets. Our goal is to utilize this knowledge in our product development and improvement efforts. [Market share/Ranking] Wagon Catcher (100%); Boom Keeper (100%).
