Aflair Co., Ltd.

We propose new possibilities for laser processing.

Our company proposes new processing methods that had never been possible before, which are based on our engineers’ 25 years of experience in the laser industry. We can offer comprehensive services from prototype making to production and sales. This is done by working with overseas transmitter manufacturers and assembly manufacturers in addition to domestic partners. Lasers are great heat sources that can realize high-density processing, and we intend to further apply them to new fields. Laser processing technologies have been used for electronics and automobile precision processing, but we propose other applications. These include forgery prevention processing for valuable papers and materials, and other packages where we can add breathability and breaking-leading functions to the material (e.g., paper and film).

[Company strength]
(1) We can propose new processing methods that had never been possible with conventional processing methods, by making use of the advantages of both non-contact processing and reduced manufacturing costs. This is done based on our veteran engineers’ 25 years of experience in the laser industry.
(2) Our offerings include prototype making, processing experiment, machine design, manufacturing, and sales. This is made possible by our strong partnerships with major overseas transmitter manufacturers and assembly manufacturers as well as domestic partner companies.
(3) We provide consulting on laser processing technology and other general laser issues, such as the usage and application of laser machines.

[Business description]
(1) We offer consulting on laser processing, including development, processing experiments, machine design, manufacturing, sales, and provision of laser solutions as non-contact processing.
(2) We develop, manufacture and sell laser processed products, create laser processing data, sell laser machine consumables, and provide laser consignment experiments and processing.
(3) We design, manufacture, and sell peripheral devices and dust collection systems for laser processing machines.

[Industry]
Laser processing consulting; laser processing machine design, manufacturing, imports, and sales

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our company makes integrated proposals covering all processes from development and machine design to dust collection systems. This is done to realize optimal processing applications for various materials, such as paper, glass, plastics, and metals, in addition to microfabrication for medical uses.
Example 1: Hole diameter 0.01 mm; laser convergent spot diameter 9 um (approximately); XY stage positioning accuracy < ±5 um (microfabrication for medical application).
Example 2: The movable range of a laser scanner head was expanded to 1600 × 1200 mm; maximum positioning speed is 100 m/min. The number of processed sheets per hour was increased by 41% (processing on paper).
We will design and manufacture made-to-order processing machines from a single unit to meet customer needs.

[Representative's message]
Laser energy is a great heat source that can realize high-density processing, and we believe that it can be applied to new fields. We have also proposed new laser processing methods and processing machines that suit customer needs while pursuing its potential. We help customers develop highly competitive products that cannot be imitated by any other company. This is done by offering value-added materials and products through laser processing. Each of our made-to-order systems is productized by confirming the customer’s needs through experiments, and designing an optimal system for these needs. We are a small-scale company, and we have focused on niche markets that major manufacturers would not enter. We have accumulated unique know-how in these fields. We believe that our products, technology, and know-how will be useful to our customers’ product development.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We displayed our laser processing machines and dust collection systems at a large-scale exhibition. Visitors were able to experience the actual speed and behavior in the demonstration. Processed goods were also displayed. We can propose machines that are equipped with the latest technologies by making use of our 23 years of experience and track record in the laser industry. We also cooperate with the world’s major laser oscillator manufacturers. In March 2015 we integrated our offices into a single location, and enhanced our organizational framework to expedite responses to various requests. A new laboratory machine is to be introduced in April. Our engineers respond to inquiries from overseas companies in English.

[Market share/Ranking]
Our company excels at high-speed processing of a wide area of paper and film. We have the largest share of the made-to-order laser processing machine market, in which we can materialize customer requests.

[Main Clients / Business History (domestic)]
(1) We participated as a researcher at Company J for a research project on the development of a laser drilling system. The project was consigned by Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC). Development and processing experiments for a laser oscillator and peripheral device continued for 2 years.(2) We engaged in consulting on laser microfabrication in Japan for 2 years. This project was consigned by Company R, a German laser oscillator manufacturer.(3) We participated in laser machine development and sales as a marketing consultant for Company C, a major machining tool manufacturer.

[Main Clients / Business History (overseas)]
Consulting agreement on applied laser technology and sales with Company R (Germany) and Company P (Thailand).
