Kyushu Hasec Co., Ltd.

We provide gear couplings for streetcars and towing vehicles for ships.

We are a pioneers of manufacturing power transmission shaft joint and were founded in 1970. We have 40% of gear coupling shares in Japan. Our products cover extensive areas of the industry – from streetcars, towing vehicles for ships used in The Panama Canal to high speed and light load products such as analysis and measurement devices. Making the most of our conventional coupling technique and the knowhow gained through firsthand experiences, we developed a compact coupling allowing significant displacement for deflection angle equipment requiring distance between devices. We have an office in China to expand our marketing channel for the train gear couplings in Asia.

[Company strength]
We, an independent general manufacturer for power transmission joints, have developed new couplings as a pioneer in the industry since its establishment in 1970 and obtained 40% of domestic shares while accurately meeting customers’ needs. Our strength is that we are capable of manufacturing products covering a wide range from heavy load fields such as plants to light loads such as analysis and measurement devices.

[Business description]
We are a manufacturer dedicated to making power transmission shaft joints and made-to-order couplings for various machines and devices (iron manufacturing machines, paper manufacturing machines, ships, trains, transportation devices, dam facilities, power plants, chemical plants, etc.). In addition to our standard products, we provide products that best fit customers’ needs by combining original and added functions of couplings.

[Industry]
Manufacture power transmission shaft joint

[Strength of products/technologies]
Among various power transmission shafts, gear couplings which are compact but can transfer great torque, are reliable and widely used by heavy industrial machines and general ones including port container cranes, ballast and cargo pumps for oil tankers, resin and tire material stirrers. Through a joint research project with a university, we succeeded in developing a new shape of gear which allows for a great displacement. We have been earnestly working on developing new technology.

[Representative's message]
We are aiming at opening an office in China in 2015 to expand our market channel for gear couplings for trains. We will continue to promote the product mainly in China and Korea.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We established an Overseas Business Department in 2011 and opened a liaison office in Dalian, China. We have Chinese staff members at Sales, General Affairs and Manufacturing departments to deal with inquires there. Responding to active investment in Chinese railway infrastructure, R&D Department and Overseas Business Department have been jointly working on expanding sales or couplings for trains.

[Market share/Ranking]
We have about 40% share of gear couplings in Japan.
