[Company strength]
We are a consignment processing manufacturer of a specialized surface treatment called PVD coating, mainly for surfaces of industrial machine materials such as tools and dies. We are a pioneer of DLC coating treatment in Japan (since 1990), and we are an engineering group that possesses a wealth of know-how based on many years of experience. We handle original coating equipment design and manufacturing in addition to consignment coating processing. A representative characteristic of our company is that we can provide highly original equipment to our customers. Our corporate philosophy is to provide customers with technology, quality, and service that are differentiated from rival enterprises.

[Business description]
Our company provides consignment PVD/DLC coating processing, coating equipment manufacturing and sales, surface treatment services (CVD, plasma spraying, special plating, and Teflon), and tool grinding services.

[Industry]
Metal surface treatment

[Strength of products/technologies]
We have technical advantages compared with our rival companies in that we can independently design and manufacture coating equipment. We can make use of original equipment to form coating films that cannot be manufactured by our competitors. We use four sets of our original equipment among a total of 13 sets of equipment for consignment processing, and we supply films according to customer needs. We also sell this equipment to universities and research institute in enterprises (about two to three sets per year) in order to support technology development in specialized fields. We provide after-sale support in the form of supplying our surface treatment know-how. We are working toward the goal of being a total coordination engineering group.

[Representative's message]
We have been conducting consignment processing mainly for orders for tools and dies to be used for processing construction machines and automobile parts. Recently the technology power of manufacturers in continental Asia has become competitive, and many imported products are circulating in Japan. The market in which we have had advantages cannot be considered to be stable, which is because of cost competition. This is why we are advancing market expansion in the fields of precision processing, medical treatment, and optical equipment, which are expected to support Japan’s Monozukuri craftsmanship in the future. We will strengthen our public relations and make the best use of our innovative independently developed films. I will directly oversee of the sales department to assure quick support for inquiries from overseas.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We have our HQ factory in Ishikawa Prefecture and Kanto plant in Tochigi Prefecture, so we have two manufacturing bases in Japan. We have assigned three salespersons in each factory (for a total of six salespersons) for area sales. The sales group in the HQ factory is in charge of western Japan, and the sales group in the Kanto plant is in charge of eastern Japan. We will expand our sales activities while balancing our advantages in technology, on-time deliveries, and service with the issue of cost competitiveness. We will also strengthen our system so that we can handle high-mix low-volume needs, with the goal of becoming a total coordination enterprise for DLC coating. We want to aggressively promote our technology power and cultivate markets in Japan and abroad.

We have taken seventh place in the ranking of DLC sales in Japan (according to Yano Economic Research Institute, 2009).
