Seibu Giken Co., Ltd.
We are an environmental and air conditioning equipment manufacturer that is accelerating overseas expansion.
We focus on manufacturing and selling environmental equipment, energy-saving equipment, and special air-conditioning equipment. We are advancing product development by incorporating the concept of a honeycomb structure, which has a shape including countless small beehive-like holes. We have developed derived products including a total heat exchanger, desiccant dehumidifier, and volatile organic compound (VOC) concentration equipment. We have a 60% share of the global market for concentration equipment. This is how we are achieving good performance. We have installed a base in China for overseas expansion, and we are advancing preparations for the establishment of a base in Thailand.
Other presentation
[Company strength] We have independently developed manufacturing equipment for honeycomb processing technology products, which constitute the core technology of our main products. We are also independently conducting R&D for necessary adsorption technology as well as honeycomb technology. We independently develop and manufacture desiccant dehumidifying rotors and VOC concentration rotors that have the industry’s top performance, including a globally unique ion total heat exchanger. We are continuously advancing the honeycomb processing technology and adsorption technology which form the core of the competitive power of our products. We also contribute to promoting R&D, environmental protection, and energy saving at the request of our customers. [Business description] Our company was founded in 1962 as a pioneer in university-led startup enterprises. Our goal is to become a technology development-type enterprise. We conduct manufacturing and sales of environmental equipment, energy-saving equipment, and special air-conditioning equipment, and supply solution engineering services, while making our client-oriented services compatible with an innovation-oriented approach. We have independently developed honeycomb processing technology products, which constitute our core technology, including the related manufacturing equipment. We maintain a top share in the industry for total heat exchangers, desiccant dehumidifiers, and VOC concentration equipment as derived products. We can also provide full-turnkey coverage for state-of-the-art product development end users with super-low-humidity dry rooms and glove boxes. We contribute to industry as an engineering-group enterprise that always pursues a spirit of leadership and innovation. [Industry] Manufacturing and sales [Strength of products/technologies] We have been particularly active in the field of super-low-humidity dry rooms and glove box systems that make use of a desiccant dehumidifier. We have achieved a supply of super-low-humidity air that far surpasses other companies by making use of our R&D institute for secondary cells, which is at the top level in Japan. Our contributions and technology power in national projects to develop next-generation cells and more advanced cells have been highly appreciated. We handle low-humidity dehumidifiers and dry rooms with the highest level of performance. We can also handle issues of running cost and environment load reduction measures, which are crucial for the commercial production of cells. This is because we are a system solution supplier, and we have established solid software that enables practical energy saving. The effects of this software have been very highly evaluated. [Representative's message] We have already established overseas manufacturing and sales affiliates in Sweden, the USA, and China. We are also eyeing the establishment of Seibu Giken Asia (in Thailand) in the near future, which will mainly support rapidly growing markets in Asia and the Middle East. We are aggressively expanding overseas sales particularly in these areas. We aim to achieve further growth and development in the fields of the environment, energy saving, and special air conditioning, which are fields in which we have advantages. We will do this by making the best use of the strengths of each base and synergy effects. [Company structure for market development/overseas expansion] The SE (sales engineering) section in our sales headquarters has a special mission as the point of contact for new transactions and major companies. They can also handle technical inquiries. We have assigned four staff members including English-speaking engineers so that engineers can make proposals and solve problems directly for domestic Japanese and overseas inquiries. We have assigned six overseas sales staff members to support overseas enterprises in English-speaking countries. We have assigned Korean and Chinese staff in the sales department and Korean and Chinese engineers in the technical development department for enterprises in Korea and China. This is how we are aggressively promoting the appointment of human resources with the ability to provide global support. [Market share/Ranking] We have a 65% share of the domestic Japanese market for total heat exchangers, and a 35% share of the Japanese market for desiccant dehumidifiers. We have a global share of 60% for VOC concentration equipment. [Awards and media coverage] [Awards] The 3rd Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Nippon Grand Award, Award of Excellence (2009).
