[Company strength]
Our Nice Joint expanding pipe joint for stainless steel pipes for ordinary piping has sold 3.1 million units since its release as a joint for water and hot water supplies. We have maintained high reliability to respond to such popularity. Pipe joints must withstand hot water and steam condensate over 80 C°, super-pure water, and ozone water for use in large hospitals and pharmaceutical laboratories. We developed a rubber material to clear this requirement. This development was based on findings from joint research with outside researchers then evaluated, and presented at academic meetings to earn trust from major general contractors and subcontractors.

[Business description]
Our company engages in integrated production of stainless steel pipes, and has a long tradition and good reputation as a specialized manufacturer. We now manufacture stainless steel pipes for construction, stainless steel piles for industrial use, bulbs, and OEM stainless steel casting products. This is done under strict quality control in all processes from design, casting, and processing to completion, using industry-leading technology and the latest equipment. Our Nice Joint expanding pipe joint for stainless steel pipes for ordinary piping is an earthquake-resistant product. It is suitable for use in pipes for supplying water, hot water, steam condensate, and super-pure water, for small to mid-scale housing complexes, hospitals, and schools.

[Industry]
Metal product manufacturing

[Strength of products/technologies]
Our company specializes in stainless steel because it can be recycled and it is environmentally friendly. Nice Joint, our main product, had been proven to have a certain degree of earthquake resistance in a simplified seismic test after the Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. However, “earthquake resistance” became an important keyword in the industry after the Great East Japan Earthquake. This is why we conducted an additional full-scale seismic test using the consignment testing program at the Aichi Institute of Technology. This was done following guidance on the equipment and implementation given by the university. It was confirmed that this product has earthquake resistance of over 1000 Gal, which is 2.5 times larger than the statutory requirement (Building Standards Act) of 400 Gal. The test had observers from universities, architectural design offices, and contractors, who also verified its high earthquake resistance.

[Representative's message]
Our company has been engaged in stainless steel pipe production since 1964, and has a long tradition and good reputation as a specialized manufacturer. This year marks the 50th anniversary of our establishment. We will strive to further enhance quality and earthquake resistance, and stabilize the production of our Nice Joint expanding pipe joint to enhance customer satisfaction. We plan to expand sales both in Japan and overseas, especially in Europe, following last year’s success in Indonesia.

[Company structure for market development/overseas expansion]
We will conduct research on possible applications as a specialized joint manufacturer, and present the outcome at academic meetings. Marketing activities for Nice Joint will be managed in Tokyo to expand sales in Tohoku and Hokkaido. This will be done by presenting technical evidence to the major general contractors and subcontractors. We assigned proficient English and Chinese speakers in our Osaka sales office in March 2014 as a point of contact for overseas companies. We will focus on sales expansion in Southeast Asia and Europe where DIN stainless steel pipes are installed.

[Market share/Ranking]
Our Nice Joint expanding pipe joint for stainless steel pipes for ordinary piping retains more than 60% of the domestic Japanese mechanical pipe joint market.
